Current TV Clip On Waterboarding. You decide!
This was posted here a while back but with all of this "controversy" I thought it should be posted again. I always felt waterboarding was torture but I was horrified when I saw it in action. You decide if it is torture........

2. One last bump and then I give up.
I hope some people watch this because it is awful to see what exactly we are talking about when we say waterboarding.

It is Halloween after all, and many are either out with their kids or outside as I was until I came in to take a quick check.

I spoke with my Bush** votin' Mom earlier today, and she's been ready for Bush** to be impeached for quite some time, but she brought up MuKasey, and the fact that she doesn't want him confirmed and that she hopes the Senate hangs tough and doesn't confirm "the idiot who doesn't even know whether waterboarding is torture". She went on from there but I'll keep that to myself.

Happy Halloween! :hi:

4. Thanks for the encouragement.
I think this is such an important issue and it is not a political issue, it is a moral issue. I hope your Mom sees the light and changes her mind. That can be frustrating.

Happy Halloween!:pals:

6. LOL, please re-read that as I hope that she doesn't change
her mind! She voted for Dimson**, but has seen the light since and has been wanting him impeached for quite some time. She was actually giddy when the democrats took control of the house and Pelosi became the speaker stating that she hoped someone would finally tell 'him' that he can't just do what he wants to do.

She referred to MuKasey as 'the idiot who doesn't know if waterboarding is torture"...

Right now all I can say is 'stay the course, Mom'!

Happy Halloween and this will be another kick! :hi:

9. Ahhh, I am tired and that went over my head.
Glad we have one more person for impeachment. Wish there were many more.

Thanks for the kick. :hi:

10. Anyone that says it is not torture should be subjected to it.
I am not for torture and I am not saying they should be tortured. I am saying they that someone can not say it isn't torture unless they experience it. Better yet, if it is not torture then they would not mind all of their kids going to a weekend camp of waterboarding. After the weekend their kids can go on Faux News and insist it is not torture. It was torture just for me watching that clip. Do people understand what torture is?

12. Thanks for highlighting this ...
This was DEFINITELY the sanitized version. The actuality must be 100x worse.

My comment on CURRENT :

"Thank you for actually SHOWING US what this "term" waterboarding is. Still, we must admit this was a very HYGENIC version. In this instance the subject definitely KNEW he would be fine at the end. BIG difference from the average person who is subjected to this. Many HAVE actually died. It is NOT a controlled environment. Many disappear. The screaming by the torturers ( US ?!?) at the subject was not even hinted at in this example. It's truly far worse than this, and yet ... this was such an eye-opener. How can ANY politician ( or decent human ) try to justify this, on the back of a hypothetical "what if ..." scenario. I'm disgusted, and ashamed . Al Gore ... We NEED you to be our next President. For this and SO many other reasons. "

Even the term "simulated drowning" doesn't cover it. It's controlled drowning, which counts both as a method of torture and a mock execution.
