How stupid is the MSM? Here ya go:
Today in Philly, the pseudo-home of Tweety, and ostensibly the City of Brotherly Love, a police officer was shot through the head and is probably going to pass away. He is at Einstein Hospital and has been given last rites.

The assault took place in a Dunkin' Donuts and the videotape has been released of the preliminary events leading up to, but not including, the attempted (at this time) killing. Apparrently, the assailant just turned around and shot the policeman, picked up the officer's gun, and ran off the property - this last part was shown.

Here's the point: we were watching the news conference with the Commissioner on live TV just before 6PM and some of the reporters were PERSISTENTLY asking...now get this: "Was the officer stopping in for Donuts?"

Ha. Ha. Ha.

This is the THIRD Officer shot in the last 24 hours...the city is under seige, and the stupid reporters were trying to figure out if the cop was trying to get fat. the Commisioner, who's no shining star, BTW, was properly outraged at the (joking) insinuation. This is not funny...this is deadly and there is no end in sight of the murders in this city.

1. reminds me....a reporter is interviewing a supposed witness (true story)
about being a witness to a terrible crash.

Reporter: "How did you feel when you saw the crash?"
Woman: "I didn't see the crash."

pause

Reporter: "Well, how WOULD you have felt if you HAD seen it?"

to be fair, that reporter was fired.

2. Reminds me of Bush joking about looking for the WMD in the Oval Office.
If you recall, the press corps was rolling in the aisles.

3. Jeebus...
Although I (privately) asked myself a similar question, the media needs to GROW THE HELL UP! ENOUGH about UFO's and BIBLE VERSES. It's time to get serious - no more infotainment!!!

6. OK, point taken-- now what WAS he doing in Dunkin' Donuts...?
I mean, come ON-- you're kidding yourself if you don't think that was just about the first thought most folks had when they encountered this story....

9. Sorry but No...
our cops patrol all the fast food and coffee places in the city all the time. They are hotbeds of crime including robberies, shoplifting, assaults, purse snatchings, and assorted nightmare scenarios. By definition, people how go in have money, otherwise they wouldn't be in a store...and the store has money. What more needs be said?

7. I'm sure the officer's family was in stitches.
Anyways, that's typical of why I don't watch tv news anymore.
