The main question I ask myself when considering a candidate...
Are they running because the truly want to help people, or do they like politics and power?

I know it's a generalization, but it really can cut through a lot of the bullshit.

2. some like power so they can do good things.
I think there are some good ones out there who are not in it for themselves. That's not being an idealist, that is being a public servant.
