For comparison: British opinion survey on ghosts, extraterrestrials, superstitions, life after death

Since the American results of a survey caused a lot of talk here over the past week or so.

Many results are broken down by gender, some by voting preference, 'social class' (which is basically by job (or former job) of the head of household - 'ABC1' = professional, clerical or skill manual, 'C2DE' = unskilled), religion of ethnicity.

What stands out for me: 31% believe some governments are concealing evidence of extraterrestrials. That rises to 34% of Labour voters, but only 23% of Lib Dems. On the other, 45% of Lib Dems believe in ghosts, while only 35% of Conservatives do - overall, 38% of the British do.

The young are far more likely to believe that dreams can predict the future than older people.
