If Gore doesn't end up running, he has done a great service to the Democratic candidates: he's forced the RW and media to spend an immense amount of energy attacking him when he isn't even running. Why? Because if he does decide to run, he poses a huge risk to their plans. I believe that is why the RW must divide their attacks between Clinton and Gore. Gore just polled better than Clinton vs. Guiliani, an amazing feat for someone who isn't even a candidate.
So why does the media continue to poll Gore then? By leaving him out, they would do more damage to the Democratic candidates. And the RW is just giving him more and more free press by attacking him. No one believes their nonsense attacks either and it just makes them look ridiculous when he isn't even running.
If Gore does run, I have a difficult time believing he won't win in a record-breaking landslide.
And if he doesn't run, he's done a great service for the other candidates.
Another win-win for Gore.
