Dog Shoots Man...

A pack of hunting dogs shot an Iowa man as he went to retrieve a fallen pheasant, authorities said.

James Harris, 37, was shot in the leg while hunting with some friends on Saturday afternoon.

The group shot a bird which landed on the other side of a fence, the Iowa Department of Natural Resource said in a press release.

"Harris reportedly went to retrieve the bird, placed his gun on the ground and crossed the fence near the muzzle end," the press release said.

"When he crossed the fence, hunting dogs stepped on the gun, which discharged and struck Harris in the left calf at a distance of roughly three feet."

This wasn't a pitbull either. It was a beagle, and once again, the dumbass human did something stupid! He propped a loaded gun against a fence unattended. This guy only had this little dog for a short time, and I'm sure all the dog did was jump around waiting for his new master to come back on his side of the fence.

I can see Cheney doing something stupid like that, so CAN I BUY HIM A DOG???????

8. That happened to a guy in my mom's old church.

He was out rabbit hunting, and like an idiot, dangled the rabbit up in the air while his shotgun leaned against his side. The dog jumped, and his claw caught the trigger on the way down, shooting the guy in the side. He almost died, but after a few surgeries, he made it and still kept hunting and kept the dog.

His wife told me the story after I asked our table at a potluck after reading a story of someone in Mason getting shot by his dog in a Michigan trivia book.
