I want to know why we the people/citizens of this country are tolerating
these crimes perpetuated by the Bush Administration. I Want SOME ANSWERS! G D'd it!

I knew we were going to war when Bush surrounded himself with all his Daddy's lackeys and promised to bring back integrity to the White House. My only mistake was believing they would just play around in South America.

This really has to stop. I'm ready to drive off a bridge, is there really something to be hopeful about at this moment?

No, I didn't think so.

Why are we letting our elected officials get away with the games they are playing? Is there a point? Is something good going to come of this disaster? Really?

I quit voting because of all these people a very long time ago and now they are back and no one is doing anything. Yeah, right, we are having "debates" in both houses on "non-binding" resolutions. I just don't know what to say!

It's just a god-damned shame@!

1. Would "just playing around with South America" be less important?

I was ready to recommend this thread until I read that...

4. I apologize for your perception. South America is most important.
I simply believed this stupid bunch would attack Latin America and I foolishly believed that we all would be able to handle that assault.

I never counted in or factored the Mid-East, but that was before I read up on PNAC.

Please forgive for any offense, it was never intended.

3. A lot of reasons
Information overload. Yes the truth is getting to be out there finally. But so to are the countless lies and spins. With a 24 hour news cycle people have become so inundated with information that they can no longer process it all. Instead it renders them zombies. Staring into the blue glowing screen.

Another factor is risk. The stress of maintaining a job these days combined with the lack of universal health care has created a socio/economic condition where in the average employee is afraid to do anything that might risk their career. Rising up and doing something can require quite a bit of commitment and time. Time the Corporations are eager to consume.

The NeoCon's fear mongering is effective. Anxiety of outside threats is always a factor. And it is always easy to pump up that fear. There are a couple of ways to motivate people to do things. Reasoning with them is the hard way. Scaring the bejeezus out of them is the easy way. Guess which option the NeoCons went for.

6. How long ago did you quit voting?
No vote = No complaint.

Get back in the game in 2008 and you can commiserate.

8. I've been voting, campaigning, working with VFP, Crawford Peace House,

Dallas Peace Center, a couple of Dem candidate races.

I've been in the "game" since 2001! I'm tired of commiserating! Are you yet?

That's what I'm asking, why? Why are "we the people" letting this happen to "our" nation?

Thanks and Peace to you.

I'm sorry my post led to what it did. I've lost faith in what voting, I don't believe it counts anymore, yet I like to believe we can get it back.

12. I share your frustration, but I'm unsure for what you stopped voting.
From your OP:

'I quit voting because of all these people a very long time ago and now they are back and no one is doing anything. Yeah, right, we are having "debates" in both houses on "non-binding" resolutions. I just don't know what to say!'

Now you reply that you haven't stopped voting and continue to volunteer. Good for you.

I can be dense at times, so I still don't understand your voting record. Do you or don't you? Are you upset with your Dem or Rep vote when you do vote? If you vote. I don't know where you are coming from.

Once again, I can be very stupid at this hour, but I do know that you are frustrated by the political process. Me, too.

7. I Am Right Behind You On The Bridge
so don't stop short. But I will cast my vote against all of this before I drive off in the hope that it gets counted (wishful thinking, I know). Voting is the only power we have short of taking to the streets. (And I have done that too.)

9. Are you ready to join with everyone saying that the next time we march
we will stay? That is the message I'm getting today. Lots of outrage.

11. We're not. Our elected representatives are. If they do,
then there's nothing we can do unless we run and win offices ourselves.
