Charmed on Air Force One, Sen. Dianne Feinstein Changes Opinion of Bush
...Bush invited Sen. Dianne Feinstein to join him on Air Force One during his trip. It may not have been coincidence that less than 24 hours earlier, Feinstein played a pivotal role in allowing Judge Leslie Southwick, a target of liberal groups, to be confirmed to an appeals court when she voted to block a filibuster and support the president's nomination.

With a 7:40 a.m. Thursday departure from Andrews Air Force Base, Feinstein found herself seated in the rear of the plane with a handful of Southern California congressional representatives.

After a breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage and French toast, Bush popped back for what the senator described as a frank two-hour conversation, mostly about foreign policy.

"I found the discussion extraordinarily positive," Feinstein said. "I came away with a very different view about him."

As for the president's performance on the ground?

"It was a wonderful thing to see, to be candid," Feinstein said. "I saw a warm, caring human being."

See? If Democrats would just cave be reeeeeeasonable, maybe they could ALL get plane rides and Freedom Toast with the Hugger in Chief!

I swan, the woman must have the memory of a popsicle. :puke:

Army contract for Feinstein's husband
Blum is a director of firm that will get up to $600 million
David R. Baker, Chronicle Staff Writer
Tuesday, April 22, 2003

URS Corp., a San Francisco planning and engineering firm partially owned by California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's husband, landed an Army contract Monday worth up to $600 million.

The award to help with troop mobilization, weapons systems training and anti-terrorism efforts is the latest in a string of plum defense jobs snared by URS. In February, the firm won an army engineering and logistics contract that could bring in $3.1 billion during the next eight years.
Government contracting has come under increasing scrutiny by Congress and citizen groups, with critics decrying the political connections of firms winning lucrative jobs. Richard Blum, Feinstein's husband, serves on the company's board of directors and controls about 24 percent of the firm's stock, according to Hoover's Inc. research firm.

22. Neither malleable or delusional!!!
I would say greed, seeing as how her husband owns 75% of a company that has contracts with the DoD in Iraq. Let's face facts, there are some within the Democratic party who are more then willing to sell their souls for cash in their pockets, and there is a good possibility that senator Feinstein is one of those people.

the Democratic Machine is behind her so no challenger ever stood a chance. However, she's up in 2012 and she'll be 79 iirc. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party in this state has it's head so far up the DLC's ass, it's virtually assured that another DLC patsy will be shoved down our throats.

Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 02:18 PM by Done
I might be willing to surrender all my principles for a meal like that. My goodness, they probably even put maple syrup on the freedom toast.

Maybe the administration has killed a million people, but you take a bite of those soft, fluffy eggs and you realize that we don't know how many people he has killed now do we? And then you bite into that juicy sausage dripping with pork fat, and you forget about those people who "may" have "injured" by the US presence in Iraq. And then comes that freedom toast with maple syrup that covers the entire surface of your tongue in absolute sweetness.

Damn those Iraqis for getting in our way. Pass the salt.

I grew up in the East Bay, and my very very early memories include the assassinations by Harvey Milk.

But Feinstein has not lived up to her full potential. I don't dislike her, and until I moved out of Los Angeles, I always voted for her. But she's outlived her usefulness as a politician. And it's not a secret that she has investment interests, or at least that her husband does.

It's just sad. At least there is still Barbara Boxer.

139. Goddamned Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 02:00 AM by piesRsquare
Sucks people in every time. EVERY TIME.

The person upthread who said "Charmed by the Devil" is right...that's EXACTLY what happens when dealing with people with this disorder. People like Bush.

Doesn't matter how intelligent you are, how certain you are of your beliefs, even how strong you are. If you don't know how this disorder works, you're a candidate for getting sucked in.

People with NPD can just FEEL it--what your "Achilles Heel" is...it's almost like they can "sniff it out", exactly how to manipulate you. It's fucking creepy and scary as hell.

I've been nailed by a number of these people in my life...almost married one.

They suck you in, they cast their spell, and you end up doing stuff you'd never do, behaving in ways that you normally wouldn't. You end up going against your own beliefs, compromising yourself, acting--and appearing--unstable and uncertain, and you don't even realize what you're doing. You doubt yourself and your own intelligence, emotional/mental stability, beliefs, principles, etc. And when the person with NPD is done with you, he (usually) will dump you like a piece of trash--with no feeling, no concern, no care, no nothing. You're out; you're gone. And then you're left to clean up the mess that you made of your life while "under the spell" of the person with NPD. You feel your true self returning, and realize what happened, realize what you did. And then the shame hits. You feel stupid, unforgiving of yourself, wondering how you couldn't see it. Blaming yourself for being "so stupid". Ashamed that you "allowed yourself" to be so manipulated. And there's no support, because half the people will say you did it to yourself, and the other half will say "get over it"; no one will believe you. Repairing the damage can take years...psychological, emotional damage in particular.

My mother, who is a psychologist (Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology), says she truly believes people with NPD are far more dangerous than the likes of Ted Bundy, as they destroy more lives yet get away with it and can't be locked up for the damage they do. I agree with her.

This is the stuff that ISN'T written in the textbooks or DSM.

Feinstein should have never gotten on that plane.

"Forgive them, for they know not what they do"--this is what Jesus was talking about, people. Feinstein is "under the spell". So is Nancy Pelosi. So are the 25% of the US population that "support" this monster (and are not obscenely wealthy). They have no fucking idea what they're doing; they think they're being perfectly rational. Only when Bush is gone will their vision be restored and they will behold their shattered lives and country--and their shame and sorrow will be almost too much to bear.

God help us.
