KUCINICH TO MOVE IMPEACHMENT BEFORE THANKSGIVING!
Submitted by davidswanson on Wed, 2007-10-24 15:53. Congress | Impeachment

By Hutch, ImpeachThem.com

At 9 pm New Jersey time, Tuesday, October 23rd, in a nationwide phone call to impeach organizers presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich announced he will go before the U.S. House of Representatives on a point of personal privilege to move the impeachment of Dick Cheney. Mr. Kucinich stated he will bring the impeachment forward before Thanksgiving. As soon as we learn more details we will post them immediately. NOW's the time to put pressure on all representatives, and tell them you will support only those candidates who get on board with impeachment and Dennis Kucinich's HRes 333 to impeach Cheney. CALL NOW - here are toll-free phone numbers you can use to call congressional offices in DC: 866.340.9281 - 866.338.1015 - 877.851.6437 - 800.828.0498 - 800.459.1887 - 800.614.2803 Don't wait for tomorrow, call right now, this second - jam the capitol switchboard with our demand to restore justice and reclaim democracy. Impeach the Bush gang!

42. That doesn't sound right in retrospect so I'll correct here by saying
I want him to have the boot that boots them out of their positions in office and right into jail.
That's 2 demerits for me for my bad wording before. SORRY.

Edited on Thu Oct-25-07 12:09 AM by FREEWILL56
We could tell Bush it is a special halloween party and get him to dress as Leahy. (forgive me if I mispelled his name) I seriously doubt if Bush will apologize to Cheney for him shooting him if he survives. If he doesn't survive Cheney can't take over as president as he'll be up on murder charges.
Disclaimer-This is in no way a terrorist plot, but just funny thoughts.
Shame you have to do a disclaimer or the ss will be knocking at my door. I have heard of other horror stories from some doing this very same thing.

99. Welcome to DU
and you're probably right that many of us including myself are on some kind of list because we still have the audacity to think outside of the (bush) box. I don't fly anyway as it's too much of a hastle for the short distances I travel.
Everyone on no fly list = Bigger corporate welfare for airline industry
I said bigger because we supposedly already bailed them out. Oh and we won't probably go to gitmo as they have some camps all ready for us spread out across the country from what I hear.

120. What country are you living in? 0% chance they would
remove him for doing this. All the Dem's want to Impeach Cheney and I would bet even a few Republicans at this point, with the damage their unholy alliance with the Neo-cons has done to the party (which was orchestrated by Cheney).

The ONLY reason they don't want to proceed on this is a political one. That is it will hurt the Dem's in all likelihood in the next election if they spend time on this instead of other items more important to the public. In my opinion they are correct in this. They should wait until after the next election then work on sending Cheney to the Hague for trials there. They won't be under the protections of B*sh pardons at that point either.

The various trumped up stories that he "saw a UFO" showing up here, there and yon were a pre-emptive (and meritless) attack on Kucinich's credibility.

53. As difficult as it may to force through, I support him all the way on this
There is far less risk in impeaching Cheney, and if successful it carries benefits almost as great as (and may readily lead to) the impeachment of Bush.

54. Investigate, Impeach, Imprison....
The whole lot of Bushco, Inc.

Let's shove impeachment right up Speaker Pelosi's table!

What did Darth Cheney and company do, threaten them with another anthrax thing? Threaten their families?
That's the only reason that I can honestly think of.

Start the process going before Thanksgiving, and maybe they can be in prison by New Year's Day, we can get out of this damn war, and start working on REAL problems, like climate change, and helping people get needed healthcare, and getting jobs back to this country. Damn the "global economy!"

Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 10:18 PM by rhett o rick
a resolution to support impeachment. If the local and state
Democratic organizations support impeachment, then our elected
representatives and Senators might pay attention. They don't
pay attention to emails, letters, and calls.

79. Can someone explain to me, please, why Dennis is doing so poorly in the polls?
I mean, it almost defies logic. There's an online quiz (sorry, can't remember the addy) that narrows down the right candidate for you based on your answers. And everyone I know aligns with Dennis. There's a straw poll on KPOJ and he's winning there. Yet in the national polls, even Stephen Colbert is ahead of him. I don't get it. Plenty of DUers adore him, including me. I know, these are pretty lame indicators, but I'm just sayin'...

95. Because unlike any of the so-called "first tier"....
...candidates, he has no name recognition. Also, when was the last time a mere member of the House was elected President? I believe the answer is James Garfield and unless you're holding your breath to return to the days of reconstruction and carpetbaggism I think he will remain the only one.

111. Rigged polls
Be very careful of what you read in polls during this election cycle. Most pollsters for hire have been rigging them for several years. In 2004, some of the "mainstream" polling organizations began skewing polls, even more in 2006.

Someone pointed out on a recent thread here in DU that they were contacted by a pollster (GOP owned as it turned out) who asked their opinion on Dem presidential candidates. They never mentioned Kucinich at all in the poll and when the person asked why, they made up an excuse and hung up.

Dennis' numbers may never be competitive with the top tier candidates, but there's little doubt his poll numbers are being kept artifically low by polling organizations that don't mention him in polls at all.

100. Never -entirely- trusted the polls
Remember the 'poll' before the patriot act was passed, that said 'most people say they would gladly give up some civil rights to fight terrorism?' Not all polls are fake, but some of them sure smell like it. What polls are trustworthy? (anyone know?)
This will be a real Thanksgiving if DK moves for IMPEACHMENT! Great news!
