What is the story abt the CA Lt Gov & Nat Guard Troops Stmt?
Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 07:29 AM by EV_Ares
Idiot Scarborough on Morning Joe is calling for him to apologize because something about him saying Bush needs to get them out of Iraq & back to CA where they belong. Saying no place to be making such a political stmt now. However, depends on the situation and how or what exactly he was saying. Haven't seen anything about it other than the Idiot Scarborough.

Does anyone know what exactly he is talking about?

A regular apology-nazi. His whining was so shrill the dogs started howling.
Thing is.. the Lt Gov is absolutely right.
And I hope he crams it down petty Joe's gullet.

4. That is what I was thinking, he was probably saying they needed the
troops there to help and what the hell is wrong with that. He is right. However, did not see or hear anything except Scarborough the ass playing politics.

3. That's not a political statement.
It's a reality statement.

5. Garamendi voiced
a thought in a far more measured way than most of us in California would. Bush's approval rating is way below the national average. Even Schwartzenegger avoids him most of the time.

The National Guard is supposed to be used for situations like this - not for some war across the world.

6. Glad to hear someone stated such an obvious fact. The NG is supposed to
be ready for duty in the US, not called overseas.

Overseas deployment of the NG was one of the many colossal failures contributing to the NOLA tragedy. Normally, the NG is there literally within hours of a disaster.

Many Louisiana NG expressed real anger that they couldn't be there to help their fellow Louisianans.

7. Yeah, sounds like Scarborough is the one playing politics and using
his show for such an awful tragedy to make a political play. The guy is a creep.

8. not so much the shortage of NG manpower, NO EQUIPMENT!
GAO report last year(?), and several governors since complained that all NG units not deployable to Iraq(wrong type unit etc) were having their equipment, vehicles trailers re-assigned to units goint to Iraq. Then the GAO stated the NG units upon coming home left the equipment and it became the property of the Army, thus bypassing budgetary constraints and guidlines. Problem is the Pentagon also used NG funds meant to re-quip them for other purposes, not stated in the report htat I remember, but I bet Blackwater et al got the majority of those redirected funds.

Long story is exampled during Katrina when the Commander of the Miss. NG complained publicly that he had mountains of supplies, cots, blankets and such, but no vehicles or trailers to move them to the disaster zone. Their were tidbits of this on the MSM, but generally 11PM news briefs and such...the usual.
