Please everyone........
check your insurance policies! As we have seen this year we never know when nature will strike out and we find ourselves with homes devastated by fire, flood, hurricanes or tornadoes. Nobody is immune from natural disaster.

Today I called my insurance company to make sure I have REPLACEMENT COST INSURANCE. There is no depreciation on my furnishings or home the policy covers replacement costs. While I was at it I added identity theft insurance for a mere $25 a year.

Make sure you are covered for the most likely natural disasters you might face. Even if you don't own a home have your other possessions covered. Renters insurance is CHEAP compared to trying to replace everything you own.

To all those in the San Diego area I wish you well and hope you are spared.

1. Now, you've got me interested. I didn't even know you could get
ID theft insurance. I will check that out tomorrow. Thanks for posting.

2. You're welcome.
I also added protection for septic system backup and water pipes leaking for $20 a year.

3. I recently made an insurance claim.
After over twenty years of dealing with the same company, I made a claim. I recieved $5k, BUT they found reasons to raise my monthly payments up an extra $100. ...In a little over four years they'll get their money back with just the extra money I'll be paying.

5. Hmm. Renters insurance is a good idea. I've always meant to, but
maybe it's a good time to act.

6. No matter how broke we were we always found a way to
pay the $120 a year for renter's insurance. That was for about $50,000 worth of coverage.
