They are golf courses. That's my old house on the right lower part of the pic. Assuming that's the freeway.

Although I have not lost a home, we came very close to being evacuated on Sunday night. Losing a home hurts, no matter what financial shape one is in.

I feel for those that did lose their homes. May their lives be mended rapidly.

I used to live in Trabuco Canyon, we overlooked Modjeska... I can't imagine the horror.

Fire was about a mile from us on Sunday.

I have only lived here for one year though. I lived in the Twin Cities before that.

15. I have, but I think this situation is much worse.

I still had a community of friends and neighbors to lean on while we dealt with our loss. This is so much worse because that support community is gone as well.

This is why Bush's War on Terror is a complete farce. Could Al Qaeda ever mount anywhere close to an attack on the scale of Katrina or these fires? Perhaps if we had made an investment in our communities over the past 8 years instead of funding an illegal/immoral war, we'd have the resources (and the National Guard) to minimize this problem.

My brother's apartment is very close to there.
I'm still not sure what the town is, the address
is in SD.

We are still waiting to see if it's still standing.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone

I drive through Rancho Bernardo all the time. This saddens me to think it will no longer be there.
