Oops! Chimpy admits that Nov. 2003 trip to Baghdad was fake.
Just like the turkey he was serving up.

"Asked by an ABC reporter whether he thought Iraq was roiled by civil war, Bush said, "It's hard for me living in this beautiful White House to give you an assessment, a first hand assessment. I haven't been there. You have, I haven't."

http://www.rawstory.com//news/2007/Bush_says_Iran_supplying_weapons_to_0214.html

Alternate explanation: The trip was real, but he drank away the memory of it.

31. It could have been the video equivalent of photoshopping
After Katrina, I saw some supposed footage of him in a displaced persons' center, and what struck me was that while the center was full of people, everyone in the background was totally ignoring his entourage.

Now that was just unnatural. There should have been people clamoring to get close to him, either to cheer or, more likely, to curse. But just walking non-chalantly behind him and not even looking?

No way.

Remember that when Oprah Winfrey visited one of those centers, the whole place erupted in cheers within seconds.

33. I remember several instances of fakery during the Katrina fiasco
I believe that about 50 firefighters were called up allegedly to work on the disaster, but Bush officials wouldn't put them to work. Instead, they were assigned to follow Bush around to his photo-ops and pose behind him in firefighter's garb while Bush rolled up his sleeves, mussed his hair and removed his tie to look like he was working. And I think Bush's photo-op on the outskirts of New Orleans was like a movie set, with earth moving equipment brought in to look like it was being used but actually consisting of props for another Bush drama. And then there's his phoney ranch which allegedly has fake movie set buildings near the entrance and might as well be on the set of Paramount pictures.

From 2000
FIRST THE AUTOPEN, NOW THE AUTOPHOTO

Looks Like Our First Illegitimate President Is Now Using Illegitimate Pictures Of Himself
Why do pictures of Bush and his nominees, taken on various days, look the same--exactly the same. It happened with photographs of Bush with nominees Condi Rice, Al Gonzalez, Ann Veneman, Christine Todd Whitman, and Paul O'Neil. Same exact look, different days, different newspapers. Inquiring reporters want to know. We've been told that Bush plans to have others do his work for him while he sleeps, does photo-ops, and makes decisions that only the President can make on the basis of uninformed whims and prejudices, but is he planning to even streamline his photo-ops so he'll have more sleep time to cover his ADD symptoms? There must be an explanation, but it may not be pretty. Cardboard cutout? Robot? --Politex, 12/27/00 MORE

20. "Selective Memory and a Dishonest Doctrine"
Noam Chomsky
The Toronto Star, December 21, 2003

All people who have any concern for human rights, justice and integrity should be overjoyed by the capture of Saddam Hussein, and should be awaiting a fair trial for him by an international tribunal.

An indictment of Saddam's atrocities would include not only his slaughter and gassing of Kurds in 1988 but also, rather crucially, his massacre of the Shiite rebels who might have overthrown him in 1991.

At the time, Washington and its allies held the "strikingly unanimous view (that) whatever the sins of the Iraqi leader, he offered the West and the region a better hope for his country's stability than did those who have suffered his repression," reported Alan Cowell in the New York Times.

Last December, Jack Straw, Britain's foreign secretary, released a dossier of Saddam's crimes drawn almost entirely from the period of firm U.S.-British support of Saddam.

With the usual display of moral integrity, Straw's report and Washington's reaction overlooked that
support.

23. I have another take on it.
Since when does the Chimp in Chief have to personally visit a war zone to make an assessment? How could he not have an opinion of whether Iraq is experiencing a civil war? And what about that general who said, (paraphrase)'It's not really a civil war, it's way more complex and WORSE than standard civil war.

I am so confused, when did * stop listening to the Generals?

25. Ok, that's creepy on a few levels.
Is it the usual Bush inability to express himself?

or

Does he even remember that he's been to Baghdad?

or

Did his brain just mush his memories of the whirlwind trips there with his usual photo-ops and think he was at Edwards AFB?

or

Did he, in a moment of amazing lucidity, realize that he is so insulated from reality, that he discounted his experiences there as a sham?

NOT!

48. He Went
He went to Iraq, but did not leave the base where he landed. In addition, even though many in the media have always pointed out that the trip to and from Iraq lasted 24 hours or longer the media fails to give one bit of information. Bush's time in Iraq only lasted about 2 and a half hours. furthermore, most of that time was spent talking to Iraq offficials. I heard one report that claimed that Bush only spent a few minutes with the troops.
