Look at this website...

As a Californian, I have to say...TAKE THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND NAZI SECURITY AND STICK IT UP YOUR FASCIST ASS!

California Fire Battalion Chief - Whoever Did This Knew What They Were Doing
October 22, 2007
Fire officials are now stating that the Orange County Santiago fire was purposely set and there is speculation that other fires may have also been deliberate. See Interactive Map

Fire officials found three separate “points of origin,” all near the intersection of Silverado Canyon Road and Santiago Canyon Road. Two were on one side of the road, and the third was on the other. “Whoever did this knew what they were doing,” said Kris Concepcion, a fire authority battalion chief. Also, the fire traveled 3 miles in its first 20 minutes when it was ignited about 6 p.m. Sunday, he said.

We are NOT implying that the California fires are an act of terrorism however; the threat of pyro-terrorist attacks pose a significant risk to the U.S. and the fires in California and in Greece earlier this year should be a wake-up call.

In 2003 an FBI memo alerted law enforcement agencies that an al-Qaeda terrorist being held in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States.

It was reported that the detainee, who was not identified, said the plan involved three or four people setting wildfires using timed devices in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming that would detonate in forests and grasslands after the operatives had left the country.

“The detainee believed that significant damage to the U.S. economy would result and once it was realized that the fires were terrorist acts, U.S. citizens would put pressure on the U.S. government to change its policies,” the memo said.

How Can So Many Fires Be By Natural Causes ?

A Local News Radio talk show host in San Diego asked, “how can so many fires, in so many places, in such a short period of time, all be caused by natural causes”.

From USA Today in July of 2003

al-Qaeda Detainee Spoke of Fire Plot

The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month that an al-Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States.

Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, told The Associated Press that officials there took note of the warning but didn’t see a need to act further on it.

The contents of the June 25 memo from the FBI’s Denver office were reported Friday by The Arizona Republic. Davis declined to share a copy of the memo and an FBI spokeswoman in Denver didn’t immediately return a telephone call.

As we have stated before. If you see anything suspicious, report it to law enforcement immediately.

UPDATE: Video - Officials say arson now suspected in Orange County Fire

UPDATE: From Los Angeles Fox News

“I’m sad to report this is an arson fire,” OCFA Chief Chip Prather announced at an early morning briefing. “There were three separate starts: two on one side of the road and one on the other, and obviously we are actively investigating that.”

Links - A number of blogs and websites have sprung up to report on the fires. We will provide links to a couple we’ve found.

1. Actually one of the biggest motives for suburban arson

these days is threat of foreclosure, often tied to the subprime mortgage crisis.

For example:

Fire allegedly set to avoid foreclosure
Saturday, September 22, 2007By Nate Reens The Grand Rapids Press

GAINES TOWNSHIP --
Sheryl Christman allegedly had a plan that would give her what her mortgage company wouldn't -- a way out. Four days shy of losing her 3-year-old home to foreclosure, Christman, 38, allegedly set the $150,000 residence on fire Sept. 1, Kent County sheriff's officials said.

Authorities say Christman, who has no prior criminal record, torched the home at 6825 Deer Cove Drive SE as a way to gain insurance money, but fire investigators immediately were suspicious of a blaze that appeared to have quickly roared out of control.

<snip>

Foreclosure arson is becoming an issue across the state and country, Grand Rapids fire investigator Pablo Martinez said. He recently attended a conference for fire investigators and nearly each person there had probed potential repossession fires.

Foreclosures are widespread, and Michigan remains among the top 10 states with the highest foreclosure rates in the nation -- one filing for every 288 households. Kent County recorded 657 foreclosure filings in August, according to RealtyTrac, a California company that tracks public foreclosure filings.

the feds jailed someone for starting a fire a few years back which involved MANY MANY MANY personnel ... because she tried to burn an old note from, ironically, an old flame ...

12. Lo & behold, Blackwater name AND an upcoming election coincidence with fire
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3037848

A devastating wildfire is burning in Potrero, California, the town where Blackwater wants to open up a private military training base. A recall election against town planners who approved Blackwater is slated for December 11, with ballots for the vote-by-mail election arriving in early November.

I'm reporting for a weekly newspaper here and drove up there early this afternoon. I got as far as Barrett Junction, just over the ridge from Potrero, when fire exploded over the mountaintop and they ordered us to evacuate.

Things sounded bleak for Potrero. A Border Patrol Agent told me the town could not be saved; he was just there and said everything was in flames.

This evening, however, I spoke with Jan Hedlun, the planner who has led the fight against Blackwater. She is safe, for now, as is Carl Meyer, who organized the recall election. At least one resident is dead, several homes have burned, and the Post Office burned to the ground. (Since most voters have rural delivery service and many pick up mail at the Post Office, this complicates the election to say the least). Local news reports indicate four firefighters were seriously injured as well.

I have no doubts that there is serious potential for Terrorist related fires, particularly with the Santa Anna winds.
It's not rocket science or hard to imagine and I wrote and warned of such possibilities by enemies of this nation back in 2001 and 2002 in the Dragon's Fury Series.

I was very suspicious about this from the start. My main suspects would be leftists of some sort: Islamofacists or eco-terrorits. But it could be ordinary pyros.
