Shirley MacLaine claims Kucinich had UFO encounter
Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer

Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has claimed to have seen a UFO, according to Shirley MacLaine in her new book, "Sage-Ing While Age-Ing."

Kucinich "had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington, when I lived there," the actress, a close Kucinich friend, wrote. "Dennis found his encounter extremely moving. The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him.

"It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

Kucinich's campaign and congressional representatives did not return calls and e-mail asking whether the Cleveland Democrat, now in his sixth congressional term, in fact saw a UFO or if there was some other explanation for MacLaine's recollection.

2. So, she is supporting another candidate?
That couldn't have been much help to Kucinich.

8. Shirley, please STFU. Please.
We're trying to get a guy elected here. Re-branding him as "Congressman Moonbeam" ain't the way to do that. America's alien-anal-probed demographic isn't enough to get Dennis to the White House. We're already working uphill with America on account of his height, his veganism and the whole "bankrupted Cleveland" thing. Shallow? Absolutely! Then again, that's the short definition of the American electorate these days.

So, y'know, Shirley, phone home or something. But quit "helping," please.

16. "the bankrupted cleveland thing?"
you look at that as a liability?

dennis stood his ground - at his own peril - and now the city is better off because of his sacrifice. he's a politician who actually did the right thing
"tbct" should be trumpeted as one of his many strengths

21. "If you're explaining, you're losing"
Many Americans have been taught to see bankruptcy as something nigh to an unpardonable sin.

I've talked with a lot of folks, and the instant you mention Dennis, the first thing you hear is "Ain't he the one whut bankrupted Cleveland?"

You can explain, and explain, and explain, and the explanations largely fall on deaf ears.

25. Haven't you heard of the new republican plan for the "strato-fence"?
They've earmarked a portion of the newest Iraq spending bill to build a huge metal fence in the stratosphere that will circle the entire earth. It not only keeps out the aliens, but will fix global warming as well.

18. Shows the difference Between Kucinich and Giuliani if Aliens arrive here....
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 10:11 AM by Blackhatjack
Giuliani is ready to blast them out of the sky, and Kucinich is open to peacefully communicating with them.

I approve of the Kucinich approach since Aliens likely have superior weapons technology.

23. Clarification ... a UFO does not necessarily mean you saw a flying saucer ...
by DEFINITION - UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object ... an unidentified thing ...

So, if you see something flying that you can't identify ... it's a UFO by definition ...

31. I could give a damn if he had a UFO sighting or not!
Lots of people have had "close encounters," way too many to be dismissed as kooks. I'm not one of them, but I've read some of those eyewitness accounts and I'm not about to write anyone off as a nut for that reason. I voted for Dennis in the 2004 primary because he totally represents my beliefs and priorities. That hasn't changed, and it WON'T change because of an alleged UFO sighting.
