Did I Miss the Outrage??
Edited on Sun Oct-21-07 01:48 PM by Bluerthanblue
when Rep. Steve King announced his new name for SCHIP?

Last week on the House floor, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) introduced a new name for the acronym SCHIP —

“Socialized Clinton-style Hillarycare for Illegals and their Parents”

He wasn't mouthing his 'perspective' when he called it health care for Illegals- he was LYING

Where was all the outrage then?

Where were all the calls for apology and retraction of the statement which is UNTRUE- and can be proven so, simply by reading the frickin bill?

NO "Illegals"- or "their parents" are or were eligible under the SCHIP plan.
And what about slandering ex. Presidents???

Did I miss it?

socialize hillary part, hillary doesnt like socialized medicine, and the schip is definatly nothing like her health care program, i swear we even have repubs trying to paint hillary in a good light.

5. There were some threads on the subject.
In one, I voiced my opinion that Steve King is insane. He makes statements like this relatively often. He's in the top five in Congress for making completely ludicrous statements.

11. Yes he is
Remember the electric fence idea? I forget the exact wording right now, but it had something to do with building electric fences to keep illegal immigrants out because "it works for livestock." Fuck that idiot.

17. Yep, that was one of his. Someone once said that if Ann Coulter were in Congress...
she'd be Steve King.

7. There was, and is, outrage in our little Iowa forum
Me, I have trouble saying his name without breaking into swearing. That guy is a total tool and there will be a number of people from all parts of Iowa working to get him out of office in '08. But I suspect that since he is an Iowan, and a lot of people think of us as hicks, there was little national outrage over his stupid remarks. He did get on "Worst person in the world" the other night though. And It will not be a surprise if he makes the "top ten idiots" list.

13. did boehner really rebuke him? Did Speaker Pelosi condemn his
remarks?

If we're going to play these silly word game antics, we're going to have to really learn to play offense as well as defense.

thanks-
I miss a lot of issues- need to pay better attention.

9. I'm outraged by pretty much everything that comes out
of that moran's mouth. I started being outraged when he was in the Iowa state Senate. But yeah, now that he has a national bully pulpit, it would be nice if the volume of outrage were appropriately large.

10. Silly you
thinking that there should be outrage when a Republic says something untrue on the House floor. Doncha know, outrage is reserved only for sliming the Dem's?:sarcasm:

20. Actually I saw it on Olbermann
First Rachel Maddow referenced it and I didn't quite get it because i didnt' watchthe Cspan coverage.

Then I saw the clip of King on Olbermann later. KO pointed out what alying peice of elephant crap King was. (though not in those words)

I admit I chalked it up to "'well there's a Con lying again". I mean they lie so often, one begins to get outrage fatigue.
