38. Yeah, they actually use samples representative of the general population,
and not self-selected samples consisting amost entirely of netroots.

14. This is a poll of the universe of liberal/progressive/Democrats with computers who
have signed up for DFA or were given the link in places like DU, who like to participate in online polls.

It's nice, it shows he has support, it shows there are engaged voters out there.

But I drive anywhere for 40 to over a hundred people to the polls during national election cycles, and none of them--NONE OF THEM--have or use a computer.

So, it is what it is. Nice, but by no means definitive.

11. Glad to hear that!
Don't get me wrong, but Al's mission is larger than the POTUS. Just my opinion and all, and I respect whatever he decides to do. I just think that being in that role will handcuff and distract him is all.

8. Yes, well we all know people smart enough to know
run for political office are not smart enough to stay out.

Al Gore can serve the public good just fine where he is and at this point running for president would be a step down.

that if Al Gore entered the race now, that he would be labeled a "Nader"?

23. I'm thinking along the lines of all the effort/money spent by
the current group....He has a following and I certainly admire him but...would he just dilute the votes? I'm not sure at this stage, 90 days out from the Caucus/Primaries that he would even have a realistic chance.

I'm just throwing out thoughts that cross my mind...since it appears a possibility.

27. Good point;. of course he would never
run but as a Democrat. I guess I'm thinking that it is too late to jump in now. The campaigns this time are such huge investments, a true campaign corporation almost. He will need 100 million at this point to over ride the others in the field. He has 60 days to do that then 30 days for the message.

If he runs and gets the Dem nomination -- how is that any shade of relation to a third party run?

16. No he wouldn't. So long as he enters as a Dem, and not as a
Lieberman Gore-Democrat-Sorta-Independent.

No one "owns" the primaries. If he found a way to get in the game just for the GENERAL, that might be a different kettle of fish. But the winning Democrat has to go to the convention, and get the nod from those guys. And those guys are US.

Sit down, you are rocking the boat. Get in line like a good person and follow orders.

Gore on top. Now that's a BIG surprise...not.

for ending Bush's War?

Wouldn't the vice-presidency allow him to focus much more on Global Climate Change?
