Roses for Democratic Congressman Pete Stark??...A Democrat with Spine

In the past, DU has sent roses to Helen Thomas and Barbara Boxer for Standing UP to the Bush cabal.
Both occasions were touching, and showed support and appreciation for leaders of Courage.

Maybe DU can send a group message of support to Congressman Stark.
I know it would be appreciated, especially after Speaker(sic) Pelosi's public condemnation of him.
It would also send a message to other Dems who are having difficulty understanding the concept of Opposition Party.

I will contribute to this cause.

Is anyone else interested?

i just donated (again) to his campaign after writing to (mis)Speaker Pelosi to express my extreme disappointment that she could take me from being so proud of her, to being so ashamed of her, in just 10 short months.

i think Pete would like a little love, so just let me know. do you think should they be delivered to DC or Fremont?

PS, Pete is my rep and just when i think i could not get more proud of him, he does it again!!

The Roses for Boxer was made possible by the work of some California DUers who actually did all the groundwork. IIRC, they made the delivery themselves.

This thread is just a trial balloon to see if there is enough interest at DU to get the ball rolling.

You can help by kicking it back to the top occasionally.

Some recommends to get it on the Greatest Page would help.

I'm definitely interested in contributing to a large, showy in-your-face-Pelosi display of support for Rep. Stark...but roses? Perhaps we could think of something Rep. Stark would appreciate more, yet provide a significant display of support?

16. i didn't get a chance to call yesterday

and since Representative Stark has publicly rescinded his statement, i don't think i want to participate in this effort now. i donated to his campaign after his initial comment, which i supported. i now regret that contribution, unfortunately. we need leaders and Rep. Stark chose to back off from being a vocal, honest leader of the opposition against the Bu$h Crime Family.

i am just so disheartened by the way Rep. Stark backed down. i am on outrage overload over this Bu$h Crime Family, and i WAS so proud of him for saying what he said. it was true and required no apology. his apology just saddens me so. why must EVERYONE bow to Bu$hCo and the DLC?

example-my patients receive 40-60 dollar bouquets from well-meaning friends.They could really use a Visa gift card to pay for groceries,etc.
