Impeachment of Dick Cheney...only one supporter
WHO HERE SUPPORTS THE KUCINICH PLAN TO IMPEACH DICK CHENEY?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBS4SWC-BY8

Williams:"...Another show of hands. Is anyone on this stage willing to enter into Congressman Kucinich's effort to impeach Vice President Cheney?

That being the response, Congressman, perhaps it's an appropriate question: Is this a proper use of public congressional time and energy?"

"Kucinich: This is a pocket copy of the Constitution, which I carry with me, because I took an oath to defend the Constitution.

We've spent a lot of time talking about Iraq here tonight and America's role in the world. This country was taken into war based on lies. This country was taken into war based on lies about weapons of mass destruction and Al Qaida's role with respect to Iraq, which there wasn't one at the time we went in.

I want to state that Mr. Cheney must be held accountable. He is already ginning up a cause for war against Iran.

Now, we have to stand for this Constitution. We have to protect and defend this Constitution.

And this vice president violated this Constitution.

So I think that while my friends on this stage may not be ready to take this stand, the American people should know that there's at least one person running for president who wants to reconnect America with its goodness, with its greatness, with its highest principles, which currently are not being reflected by those who are in the White House."

2. I hate to criticize my main man, but...
A-Perhaps Dennis shouldn't be using the floor of the House to promote his candidacy and B-Maybe going after Cheney on Constitutional grounds would be easier if he cited the ignoring of subpoenas, the hundreds of signing statements, the usurpation of governmental power to the executive, etc...
Lying us into a war may be immoral, but I'm not sure it's unconstitutional.

4. So you believe the reason for introducing articles of
impeachment against Cheney is more to promote his candidacy than to hold this administration accountable? Maybe the reasons could be different, perhaps he wanted to highlight the lies/manipulated intelligence because he sees the same thing happening with Iran.

5. No, but when he says things like "there's at least one person running for president who.."
It sounds like he's at a presidential debate, not the floor of the House.

6. Well if he's said that on the floor I've missed it, the above quotes
and transcript are from the debate. They all use their position in the Congress in one way or another. I just wish someone else would make accountability an issue before the situation in the ME deteriorates further :(

7. SHIT. My bad.
I completely missed that it was a debate scenario. :banghead: What a dope.
Anyway, I'm glad I was wrong. DK rules, as always.
