Jabba the Hastert was a little more predictable. I don't think they make extra wide seats in the Senate, and the last few years have got to be uncomfortable ones.

Plus, I'm sure he feels a compelling need to spend more time with his lawyers.

He went from Speaker of the House to common, plebian Congressman. Hard for a big, arrogant, inflated, blowhard ego to handle that kind of humiliation. From sitting up at the top of the room in the biggest seat with the best view - to being sent literally to the back of the room in semi-obscurity. I'm surprised he didn't quit outright. Didn't even try for the minority leader position. Probably licking some extra wounds to his ego because he got replaced by A GIRL. Even so, he still drags his ass back to the home district with his tail between his legs.
