Who did the Media and the Republicans select for us last time? Dean? Kerry?

Who did the Media and the Republicans select for us last time? Dean? Kerry?
Now that I have learned Democrats don't really want our leading candidates, we're just unthinking pawns, who did the MSM and GOP select for us last time?

Was it Howard Dean? Or were they really wily and just toyed with Dean's lead knowing they'd give us Kerry?

Or was 2004 a genuine choice and this one isn't?

1. The Mighty Slime Machine Destroyed Dean When They Saw He Was a Threat to Them
Dean said something about stopping media consolidation, and the MSM had to take him down fast and hard.
Their sound people conjured up "The Scream" to make Dean look like a raving loonie and it was all over.

It's easy when you own the news.
