My Personal Apology To Everyone At DU
On Friday night, I posted a notice that the Head-On Radio Network ("The H.O.R.N.") America's Liberal Voice, would be broadcasting live the proceedings of the West Virginia Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Day festivities, including the keynote address by America's last elected President, Bill Clinton.

We'd been working on this since early last month with the WV party.

Two days ago, we were confirmed for what we were doing, i.e. providing a live, international, webcast of the event.

This evening, upon my arrival at the site, the very same functionary who had been in contact with the H.O.R.N. for the last month told our rep (and me) that he'd been leaving messages for him for the last three days that we wouldn't be allowed to broadcast. Interestingly, he'd confirmed our broadcast presence only two days before in a person-to-person telephone conversation.

As it turns out, I found out that we're threats to National Security.

Otherwise, we'd have provided you Bill Clinton's address. Otherwise, I'd not have mentioned our broadcast on the GD-P boards.

On behalf of everyone associated with the Head-On Radio Network, we apologize.

1. Is anyone else being permitted to broadcast the proceedings?
What's up with this national security threat? I would expect some stunt like that from Junior but not from Clinton.

2. C-Span had cameras there

Being audio-only, we had planned to be backstage (where we were last year when Senator Obama came calling. We required about four square feet of space.

Despite what had already been said, we never got a chance. "Security won't let you in." "Whose security?' "National Security." And thus I hauled the hundred pounds of equipment I'd hauled in right back to the vehicle.

On the other hand, I wasn't so scary that I couldn't get Mr. Clinton's autograph for my son.

One must take one's victories where one finds them.

3. Then I suppose it was the Secret Service.
Why keep you out and let C-Span in, I wonder? Hmmm.

4. I spent a considerable amount of time being outright PISSED
After awhile, though, the idea of being an enemy of the people sorta grows on ya!

Then again, C-SPAN is media paid for by the Corporate MultiMedia. That's what C-Span stands for.

We can't have upstarts re-inventing media smack-dab in the middle of a presidential campaign!
