God, I love this place

I never thought I would be so in love with a website such as this. It gives not only educates me, but gives me some sanity in my life. I live in a world full of Bushbots, and DU is, well, my happy place. It gives me reason to hope for this country and for the citizens of the world.

DU is my news source. DU is my educational resource. DU ROCKS!

And for the wonderful person who sent me hearts today - a big thank you. It was needed in the worst way!

I live in a liberal area, but it seemed that the rest of the world was on a different page. I was starting to think that all the things I'd been taught about my government were wrong.

When I found DU, I realized I was right and the rest of the country had gone crazy.

I've seen big indexes of boards and started going through them looking for something that is half so well designed and run - nothing. Not to mention all of the neat bells and whistles, sig line extras, journals, video library, and more . . .

This was my master's thesis topic. I've never seen such a richly interactive environment.

I have been a constant reader for years now. Not much of a poster, but I have learned so much from you guys. Thanks for all the information. I have three of my five kids hooked on it also. whomever sent me a heart. It was truely much appriciated. I feel so grateful towards the wonderful people here. Also, my baby turns 18 on valentine's day. She was the one who wrote a very serious paper when she was in eighth grade that opened my eyes to the evidence that was laking to this war and the terrible cost of human life. Well anyways, it was so wonderful to recive a heart on valentines day-her special day.

and a sanity saver. I live in the south, and although I have many liberal/progressive friends, I am so much more left-wing than they are. I'm so glad to come here and know that I'm not alone. I've even become more tolerant - I hope. The other day I put someone on ignore - s/he was driving me nuts with abrasive posts, and even though I agreed with the person's philosophy, I couldn't stand the way it was being expressed. That person lasted on ignore for about ten minutes, when I realized that one day, I may be abrasive and overbearing too, and I won't want to be ignored. So the person is off the ignore list.

I appreciate the information - there is a lot I would never know if there weren't so many well-informed people here who are willing to share their knowledge.

Anyway, thanks for everything, DU - I love you all.
