New federal charges against Kerik. Ha Ha!
Newsday.com

9:10 AM EDT, October 12, 2007

Ex-NYC Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik is expected to face federal charges that may include allegations of bribery, tax fraud and obstruction of justice, according to a report published in Friday's Daily News.

The newspaper adds that the charges are expected to be filed soon, and stem from a secret meeting in a bar in TriBeCa in 1999, in which the former commissioner allegedly accepted free renovations to one of his properties in exchange for a supposed police clearing of a firm with alleged mob ties.

This new revelation may prove to be an embarrassment to the Rudy Giuliani presidential campaign, since the former New York City mayor named Kerik as his right-hand man and recommended him for the top post at the Department of Homeland Security in 2004. A week after his nomination by president George W. Bush, Kerik's name was withdrawn when he confessed to hiring a nanny without a permit to work in the United States.

Two years later, the former commissioner pleaded guilty to two ethics violations prosecuted by the Bronx district attorney's office, and was ordered to pay $221,000.

His old boss told Larry King in February of this year that proposing Kerik as Homeland Security chief was a mistake. Giuliani is the godfather of Kerik's youngest children, Celine Christina and Angelina Amber.

1. I have no faith anymore
For some reason, I believe they are going to get this over with because it is inevitable. It will be rushed through and in the end, a pardon will be forthcoming.
This won't hurt Rudy's campaign. The slimier the republican the more the base whips itself into a frenzy.
