BUSHCO Loses Icon Of Pick-up Trucks+Rebel Flags-Merle Haggard-"Where Did America Go"
Republicans have even lost that icon of pick-up trucks and rebel flags, Merle Haggard!

“Everything Wal-Mart all the time, no more mom and pop five and dimes… What happened, where did America go?”

“The folks don’t have a say-so anymore. They’re being force-fed - music, yeah, but every other darn thing too. I supported George W. I’m not exactly a liberal. But I know how that Texas thing works, who those oil folks are and what they wanted in Iraq… ”

“I’m a born-again Christian too, but the longer I live, the more afraid I get of some of these religious groups that have so much influence on the Republicans and want to tell us how to live our lives.”

“The thing that gets under my skin most about George W. is his intention to install fear in people…This is America. We’re proud. We’re not afraid of a bunch of terrorists. But this government is all about terror alerts and scaring us at airports. We’re changing the Constitution out of fear. We spend all our time looking up each other’s dresses. Fear’s the only issue the Republican Party has. Vote for them, or the terrorists will win. That’s not what Reagan was about. I hate to think about our soldiers over in Iraq fighting for a country that’s slipping away.”

3. Even that old redneck finally woke up.
"I hate to think about our soldiers over in Iraq fighting for a country that’s slipping away.” A pretty chilling, and accurate, statement...

5. Hag's been a fairly independent thinker for a while now
I remember hearing him rip the stuffing out of the phony "war on drugs" about ten years ago.

7. Gee Merle, did the alarm clock finally wake you up?
Welcome to the America that your fans know so well: Endless fear, and charges of treason if you're not scared enough. And George W. has disgraced our country and all of us with his policies of warmongering, torture and secret police tactics.

8. Haggard's been ragging Bush for the same reasons
since 2002. He regretted voting for the dweeb pretty quick.

If only he'd paid a little more attention earlier to what America really means and it isn't hot dogs, pick up trucks, and big hats.
