What did you think? He asked her about FISA Changes. He said it was the first time she had been on his show since assuming Speakership.

5. Stole my thunder. I was just thinking what a great pair they were...
What, with Ed Shultz being able to flip over into a Rush Limbaugh clone if the right job offer, and the Pelosi doing almost as much for Republicans as Newt did...

OK, the last bit was a little harsh, but I'm tired of the "we tried and he vetoed, it, we've got to wait until 2008".

Nancy does NOT get an "E" for effort...

7. House FISA revisions better than Senate because House is not giving immunity to Phone Co's
Edited on Tue Oct-09-07 01:37 PM by KoKo01
Said holding Bush "accountable" better than Impeachement because Republicans Impeached for frivolous reasons and there needs to be documentation and it's better to hold Bush accountable and make him comply with the Constitution. When asked about the Gonzo Torture and the hidden memos, she said she didn't see them. Schultz asked if that was impeachable and she said that Waxman was documenting what has gone wrong but that it's more important to look to the future and hold the President accountable because he is not "the Decider." She repeated that there aren't enough votes for impeachment anyway and it's more important to provide oversight of Bush. She said the House is trying to do what it can to stop the war but there aren't enough votes in the Senate to pass anything to stop it. She seemed to keep mentioning the Senate as if they were the problem.

Ed said he was overwhelmed with e-mails and Nancy seemed pretty defensive. Almost like she was talking to Tim Russert where she had to carefully weigh every answer.

That's about it.....sigh..

I don't buy all of her excuses. She's parsing words. You hold him accountable by impeaching him. I think she's afraid to for other reasons. History will tell us but right now we don't know why.

12. Of course she's defensive, she's not doing what her
constituents are asking of her. She's following what she feels is the best course of action. Problem is she didn't get voted in to follow her conscience she got voted in to follow her constituents conscience. Too many in power believe that the "little people" are clueless and shouldn't be allowed to make decisions that are "above their pay scale".
