She basically said the veto was stupid politically and policy-wise.
Pat agreed on the pitically stupid part, but defended the veto based on "fiscal responsibility"
which is a complete joke at this point with this admin. We can throw hundreds of billions away in Iraq
but can't spend 35 billion to insure children over the next 5 years? She tore it up!
Look for the video if someone posts it, it was fun to watch.

Rachel was phenomenal. She had all her facts lined up and she held her ground. She sounded professional and honest while Buchanan just sounded like a hater. "Socialism", "Communism". Buchanan played all the ism cards.

Rachel was right to say that the cost of treating this kids right now is not "free". When these kids go to the emergency room or a city run clinic we all pay for it anyway. The shift is to local taxes.

This is not about greedy parents not wanting to pay for insurance for their kids. This is the reality of health care costs these days. Sure one of the parents can quit working to "qualify" as extremely poor but that's insane. The whole point is that these are working parents willing to pay for affordable insurance for their kids.

The real issue is the broken health care system in this country and bush and the republicans are going to defend privatized health care robbery, until the day they are kicked out of office.
