Knollenberg is an undistinguished representative who has represented wealthy and populous Oakland County for many years. It was traditionally Republican, but it's turning blue rapidly. There are plenty of reasons to veto the bill. Regarding the incomes of who would be covered- did I somewhere say it would cover people making $83,000 in Mississippi? No, I did not.

For one thing- attaching a tax to a shrinking pool of people- smokers, is not the smartest way to fund any program, whether it's for tanks and bullets or for cuddle puppies.

facts regarding SCHIP at cato's website. I don't have a specific page saved in my bookmarks. Heck, there's very little in my bookmarks. In all honesty, my hope is that some of you guys will actually take the time to read about SCHIP (and possibly Medicare and Medicaid) by visiting the Cato Institute's website instead of just grazing through a specific link to see that roughly 9 out of 10 kids in the upper tier of would be covered with this expansion have insurance. Kids in households making $50,000? No. That wasn't my claim from the start. Kids at the upper portions of the expansion? yes.

They have several things on SCHIP throughout their site. A few articles and some podcasts. BTW, they are against the Iraq War before thinking they are some GOP site.
