Libby trial question

So did I understand it correctly that the "2" of the 1x2x6 were Fleischer and Bartlett?

There seems to be sooooo much more going on here than has come out so far.

1. Redbear, H2O Man will hopefully be along here in a minute...
If he doesn't see this (and I'm kicking it up so he can!) please go to www.firedoglake.com and post the question there. I believe the folks there have been debating this very question for over a year now as well.

Every day is another puzzle piece, but one thing's for sure -- I don't think the White House is really happy with how the puzzle's starting to look now, is it? :woohoo:

3. Interesting stuff
The most important thing seems to be that there is no way these guys would have been leaking this without some sort of orchestration.

4. Considering all the things that compete for attention ...
... I can't imagine this being done without orchestration from the HIGHEST level. Cheney.

These people are VERY ambitious. There's no way in hell they spend their time doing something like this if it was contrary to the bosses' desires ... or took time from doing other things that shined the apple.

Anyone who doesn't think Cheney drove this could only have just fallen off the turnip truck.

5. i don't understand how these people that leaked her name aren't getting
indicted, how many leakers are there now--4, 5, 6? IMO all the leakers knowingly exposed her and isn't giving out classified info to someone without a certain level security clearance a violation?

6. We don't know how many of them made deals that will come out later
Plus there is Fitz's "sand in the umpire's face" comment. It sounds as if in Fitz's view Libby has to be proved a liar before the rest can fall into place.

7. Of those who leaked to the press, who has it been established knew her identity

was classified?

It seems to me for criminal prosecution it would have to be established that they knowingly leaked info they knew was classified to people they knew they shouldn't have. Just because a person works for the CIA doesn't immediately mean their identity is classified information. Plame's was but so far has it been established that any of the leakers actually knew that her affiliation with the CIA was itself classified info? Libby may have known, I suspect he did, but I don't recall that's been clearly established in the court documents. Or that it's been established that any of the others knew her identity/CIA employment itself was classified.

For example, according to Joe Wilson's sources, Rove apparently shit bricks and was furious with Libby and Cheney when he learned in the media that the chats about Valerie Wilson with the press may have constituted a federal crime.

8. "I've already said too much" is a pretty strong indication to me
Additionally, if you want to "out" a CIA agent can you avoid prosecution by intentionally not finding out if she is covert?

I think you also have the question of whether Cheney's knowledge can be imputed to those he sent out to do the leaking.
