I don't worry about his middle name either, or if he smokes, jokes, and drinks cokes with the old folks.

I only see him as my next leader....someone who gives me a ton of hope....and a future president who will not only restore honor to the White House, but who will also return to our country the dignity that Bush took away.

1. I'm starting to hope . . .
Saw him on 60 Minutes yesterday. Can't think of when I've ever seen a candidate sit with his arm around his wife like that AND look perfectly natural (not like something some consultant told them to do). They interacted with one another now and then in the course of answering questions, I REALLY like that.

Other parts of the interview had tight close-ups of his face while he was formulating answers and I admire the calm open-ness I saw there, no mask, a steady gaze, real thoughtfulness. His smile may just be toooooo good (it's blinding and that makes me proceed with caution). His vocal timbre is a huge asset, never underestimate the effect of a powerful voice.

Then I came here and read about his response to some cheap shots the Australian PM Howard took at him. Absolutely perfect, the sort of thing we've been WAITING for Democratic leaders to do and he nailed it. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x187031

I'm still pulling for all of them, each one, to develop to the fullest of his/her potentials, because that would be the best thing for the U.S. But, I want to work for one whom I actually CARE about.

2. I think he is someone we need to give this country optimism and hope again
I see him as much the way my parents saw JFK in 1960--a new leader for a new generation.
