1. Is he saying that shit?
Damn - well it figures. Wall Streeters don't like unions. They've never had to really work for a living.

11. I would also say that the stock prices just means the CEO retires with billions
and a handful of other officers get millions, and screw anybody else. The stockholders just get the pride that their CEO is one of the richest critters in the world, I guess. They don't ever seem to get much else. And us worker bees just need to pick up and move to India where the jobs go, I guess. We can compete with billions of other worker bees. Having a company that increases it's stock prices means nothing for us anymore. Nothing. That's what they want. Someday it won't mean enough for them either, but we will be long gone.

12. I know - and according to Cramer,
you're the "real deal" if you "BREAK the union."

that video really angers me.

Eyeing the quarterly report and ignoring everything else is what gets companies into these messes. You make short term quick fixes to get a good report, your stock goes up, and your product goes to shit.

That is my completely ignorant view, I should add. I am just paraphrasing an old article I read when Benz bought Chrysler and was bewildered about running a company without looking to the future, just to the immediate bottom line. He said something like, "sometimes you run without a profit for a few years to save the company and be cutting edge in the long run."

19. That is actually quite insightful.
When given a base analysis, that is indeed what is happening. You couldn't be more correct.

Anyone who claims otherwise is full of shit.

To me the most disturbing thing about this entire sad episode is that this really is what our society is all about.
The investor class must profit. Must profit.

It just seems so much more brazen now than say 30 years ago.

The good thing about this was that it really made Kramer and his ideas look totally insane. And you would have to be really, really educated to agree with his position. So, most of the people watching- and not just us bloggers- cant help but see that what Kramer was saying was abhorrent.

"Throughout history the ruling class has only wanted one thing: Everything." -Parenti

I say we get the video of Kramer having a meltdown because 7 million people were going to get foreclosed on, and put it side by side with this one where he wants to break unions.

Maybe we should find someone in that union who is about to get foreclosed so we can put a human face on Kramers's cognitive dissonance?

24. Kramer never gave a shit about the potential foreclosures
He wanted the Fed to bail out his hedge-fund buddies that exposed themselves and their clients to losses from investing in the sub-prime mortgage market.

25. I see that clearly now. He used them to curry favor with the public, and make
it easier for the government to feel like there would be no backlash from the public when they, in essence, just helped out the Hedge Funders. In other words, the public was used...again.

23. Aren't all those TV pundit guys in union?
They must be. I don't know how it works for those kinds of shows, but I know the unions try to organize all the "entertainment" shows, the sitcoms and dramas etc... And there's special contracts for low budget stuff so that people can at least get benefits even if they don't pay scale and if they pay a flat weekly rate regardless of how many hours are worked. They must be in AFTRA, which covers radio and TV or something. Even if he makes enough to not have to worry about unions, does he not care about all the people who make it possible for his show to air?

Fuck Union Busters.
