I must be some kind of freak, because I feel neither the need to attack nor defend any of the Democratic presidential candidates. I'm interested in watching and listening to them, and seeing how it all turns out. I'm leaning toward one, but still undecided. I don't think any of them are the devil.

Am I really that unusual?

I'm exactly where you are. I like a couple of candidates, one more so (DK), but I'm not going to trash anyone UNTIL that candidates supporters come in here to trash everyone else. I find political proseletizing more offensive than an army of religious proseletizers knocking on my front door.

3. I'm with you. I learned my lesson yesterday.

I posted here about Obama being called "lazy" by a "senior White House official," and it led to such a nasty exchange that the thread was locked. My point was just that this White House will use every negative stereotype it can; I never imagined it would be seen as shilling for Obama (I am still a Gore guy, but will support the Dem nominee).

If anybody feels the need to start foaming at the mouth all over again, save your breath. Never saw such visceral hatred here at DU, and it's aimed at Dem candidates. Geez. I'm done for the evening, but I agree with your point, and appreciate your sanity.

I only wanted to state that I think "attack" (or what passes for that on DU) is a fair response to the sell-out that is Congress today. Gentle constructive criticism has its place, but our reps need to know just how far out of line they are. I think that in this America, if you do not attack, you are endorsing.

All of them have something to recommend them. I've only really eliminated one, and am disinclined toward a second, and juggling the others, so I still consider myself undecided. It's early. The pickings are broad. And who knows, Gore might declare and get a lot of people to rethink.

Relax and make an informed choice, with my admiration. And run like hell when you're baited.
