but I wanted to give people a chance to vote first.

Unlike those who think Hill's already won the nomination.

14. Seems to me the Clinton supporters
I am for Edwards and I hope he wins but it makes me angry that all the Obama supporters are constantly and everlastingly bashing Hillary Clinton. If you go down the list you see the same Obama supporters posting over and over and over about Hillary this and Hillary that. If the Hillary and Edwards supporter's would lower themselves that much they would post also and it would end up more flaming. I for one find it amusing that the Obama supporters are so uptight they have to bash bash bash Hillary. Edwards has them all beat.

A certain amount of nose-holding might be necessary with any candidate, but Hillary? Jeez.

22. No ... that's not true.
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 07:08 PM by TahitiNut
The criticisms of Hillary are 80-90% focused on her votes and her positions on the issues ... and the Hillary supporters call it "bashing."

The criticisms of Kucinich are at least 70% focused on his appearance and height compared to his wife's ... and the Hillary supporters call it "opinion."

Above, you can easily read "Moonbeam McCrazypants" in reference to Kucinich. Obama and Clinton and Edwards are not demeaned in anything even close to the juvenile name-calling aimed at Kucinch.

Over and over and over and over again on DU.

It's tiresome to read how people equate the stances in opposition to the candidates ... when there is no equivalence.

"Obama and Clinton and Edwards are not demeaned in anything even close to the juvenile name-calling aimed at Kucinch."
That's not true.
I've seen more juvenile name-calling aimed at Sen. Clinton than any other candidate.
When posts regarding her votes and postions are couched in sexist hate speech, RW hyperbole, and Rovian phrasing - that's bashing. And DUers comment most about what happens most.

19. Hillary gets bashed the most..
but I dont see her defenders come out as much. The Kucinich people flip a shit every time it is mentioned that he looks like an elf, and his wife is like a giant compared to him.

20. Do you think it's equivalent to say that Kucinich "looks like an elf" ...
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 07:01 PM by TahitiNut
... and point out that Hillary voted for the IWR, favors a permanent military presence in Iraq, and plays footsie with the health insurance industry in her health care proposal??

To call both "bashing" is really a strange way to describe what passes for 'discourse' on DU.

23. Both is bashing, just different kinds.
The Kucinich and many Gore people get deeply offended when people make fun of their personal appearances.

24. I've noticed that when it comes to Senator Clinton,
some perceive every criticism as "bashing." The most insistent and immediate--even brutal--defensiveness is to be found around discussions of Madame Senator.
