SNAP! Tucker's Fill-In (David Shuster) Slams Republican Congresswoman!
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 05:59 PM by MJDuncan1982
Shuster and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN 7th) are talking about the MoveOn.org ad.

Shuster: "What was the name of the last soldier to die in Iraq from your district?"

Blackburn: "I don't know"

Shuster: "Why don't you know? And why do you know all of the details about the MoveOn.org ad yet you do not know the name of the last soldier from your district to die in Iraq?"

And he did not let it go. Very impressive. I bet she'll never return to that program!

1. That's no ordinary "replacement." That's David Shuster, one of the few true...
...journalists working in TV.

I view Marsha Blackburn a whiny, smarmy creepy little Bunt.

Yes she acts very hypoctiical, and cares more about power than the lives of soldiers and Iraqi civilians that died in Bu$h's Oil war in Iraq.

You have to do your best to ignore her personality when you listen and see her.

7. David Schuster needs his own show. Whom should we contact to
press such a venture? I would even watch two hours of tv if Schuster was on, as well as Keith. He is dynamite. Please let me know if you have an address I can write or a number I can call...preferably the latter.

27. I don't know if it was a "gotcha" moment
After all, it sounds like Ms. Blackburn had done a lot of work memorizing details about Move On, but very little time knowing things about her own district. Now, if the RNC blast fax had concentrated as much time on events on the ground in Iraq as it does on attacking political opponents, I'd guess that Ms. Blackburn would have a better idea of what (I'm guessing) matters more to the people in her district.

Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 06:54 PM by fenriswolf
to expose someone who was indiginate about an add that slammed a general who was trying his hardest to keep the war going. I don't think the soldior or his parents would mind for putting a politician in his place that is all for more dead soldiers (and before you slam me I have friends who have died in this war, friends from my unit, friends who i lived with and worked with)

38. Well, you're entitled to your opinion, of course
But I hardly think this is "USING" a dead soldier any more than, say, the Boot Project or Arlington National Cemetary "use" dead soldiers. And what do you make of the high dudgeon last week about how the Move On ad was conflated to become an attack on all soldiers when it questioned the independence of Mr. Petraeus?

20. Thanks! Here is my letter:
Thank Mr. Shuster for me - his questions to Rep. Blackburn were a breath of fresh air. Imagine, a reporter asking questions about the war when politicians want to discuss garbage.

That was beautiful. I usually don't watch Mr. Carlson's show - I am glad I forgot to change the channel today - please give Mr. Carlson's job to Mr. Shuster.

Sincerely,

24. I looked up David Shuster because
I had no idea what he was like..

snip~
"In August 2006, he was awarded the prestigious “Bugle Award” by the 1.3 million member organization “Disabled American Veterans.” The annual honor recognizes journalists who bring attention to disabled veterans. Shuster won for his extensive coverage of the 2005 National Disable Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, including an hour long special that aired on MSNBC.

In August of 2005, Shuster reported from the eye of Hurricane Katrina as it made landfall in Biloxi, Mississippi, Shuster’s reports aired in MSNBC and “NBC Nightly News.” Shuster also spent several weeks reporting on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina from New Orleans.

41. Sent off an email
Gave kudos, and said next time (like there will be a next time, she's never coming on) ask her if she condemns the tarring of Kerry and Cleland. Or if she believes Giuliani should make up the difference like MoveOn did when he got a discounted rate.

This is the only time something resembling the truth occurs. When their carefully screened, perfectly choreographed appearances accidentally encounter journalism. Imagine if Bush had to endure the Parliamentary procedure of being forced to stand before the House of Commons (without earpieces) and answer questions regularly like the Poodle did. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

I wish he had asked her about her "coward" comments about Jack Murtha and how that differed from the ad. She was very vocal on the "Murtha is a coward" bandwagon that I felt was highly unethical.
