North Korea assists Syria with nuclear technology

Newspapers in the U.S and Britain have reported that North Korea is secretly helping Syria to develop a nuclear weapons facility, leading American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to call for transparency from North Korea.

Amid the newspaper reports, Ms Rice told journalists at the U.N General Assembly there were a lot of questions that needed to be answered by North Korea on all aspects of its nuclear program

According to Israeli army sources, elite Israeli forces seized North Korean nuclear material during a raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israeli warplanes bombed it on September 6th.

The sources said commandos had seized the material from a compound near Dayr az-Zwar in northern Syria.

Further tests showed it was of North Korean origin.
