Our only hope for war with Iran
Any aggression against Iran could result in consequences to horrible to contemplate; We all know this. I would really like to believe that Bush's sabre-rattling was some sort of sophisticated strategy into frightening Iran to abandon their nuclear ambitions. However, given the complete lack of "smart decisions" demonstrated thus far by the Bush administration, I'm not very confident that this could be the case

I think it's more likely that the current moves are twofold; to shift blame for the failures in Iraq ("our brilliant plan for Iraq would have worked, but those damn Iranians came in and mucked it all up!") and secondly to distract us from those same failures.

Unfortunately, Iran dose'nt know what we're up to. So, naturally, they will deploy forces to try and defend themselves from attack. When you have armies, suspicious of each other, deployed forward-in close proximity-the chance for an accident increases substantially.

I greatly fear what this knucklehead is getting us into. Keep in mind that although Iran does not yet have nukes, Pakistan does. (and we've been shelling pakistani territory lately) By attacking Iran, we provoke even more muslims in a part of the world where most muslims don't like us much anyway. By attacking Iran, maybe they'll somehow eradicate Iran's nuclear capabilities. (Leaving aside how easy it would be to hide such weapons and equipment, and the fact that they can always start over again) But what if this helps cause the overthrow of Musharraf in Pakistan? And those Pakistani nukes are then controlled by a radical government? That's the fundamental flaw that Bush & friends really don't seem to appreciate, even after Iraq...

The Law of Unintended Consequences.
