Poll question: Who is the audience for the networks evening news
I'm just wondering who is there to be in front of a television to watch the "evening" news broadcasts from ABC, CBS, or NBC. The poll is not if you watch them or not but if you are normally able to be in the room with the television to watch them.

1. "Other, able" with a qualifier.
If I'm flipping around and happen to see a story that looks interesting I'll stop and watch, but I don't go out of my to view them.

2. Other able
Although I'm not sure how good our reception is for the three networks.

Our TV is just used for gaming and watching DVDs. So I suppose I'm able to watch it. But I don't.

3. I am able - MOST of the time
I just choose not to allow that propaganda into my home.
Occasionally I will run into the news and hear an interesting story, maybe one about another dead stripper or something, then it hits me, there should be some real news they should be reporting like dead soldiers and civilians killed because of our incompetent President. But since they refuse to report the truth, I watch reruns of CSI or CSI Miami, or at least that is the background noise as I go about other chores.

4. Watch the ads
That will tell you who is watching. There are a lot of drug & financial ads. I would think the demographics are probably over 50. They have always got their news from the broadcast stations, not much for change. They are probably not very politically curious either. The network they choose is probably based on the local news they watch either before or after the national news. They know what they know and don't want an uppity anchor telling them any different.

8. That is what I thought

I haven't seen one of them in awhile. I don't know a lot of people who have made it home by then to see them.

5. I am usually home in the evenings in time to catch the news, but
I don't watch any of the network broadcasts that you list. I do watch The New Hour on PBS as I feel that they report with less sensationalism and do more in depth interviews and analysis. They do a much better job at presenting both sides of an issue than the major corporate networks.
