Why does Ghouliani want wife #3 to phone him during speeches?

I don't get it... is he trying to sell himself as being a 'family man', after dumping his previous family? Why call during speeches? Is this Republican humor or something?

1. Two reasons:

1. He thinks it makes him look human, a man in love with his wife.
2. Business executives do this kind of thing when they're at a meeting that's going rough: have someone call them in the middle of it to break the tension and let them get the upperhand when they recommence their discourse. (This worked well with the NRA as nobody knew what to say after that call.)

BTW, I'm giving Rudy a free pass on this one. I think this stupid idea was something Judi dreamed up.

This is a man who moved this woman into the home where he and his wife lived.
Taking a phone call during a speech is small potatoes compared to that.

The day I jumped off the Hillary train was the day when she had one of her staffers come up to her during a speech and tell her that they were late and had to leave for their next appointment.
