Ahmadinejad -- N.Y. front page headline *EVIL*
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 09:19 AM by cboy4
As far as I'm concerned, they can just use the same headline whenever Bush comes to the U.N.
What's the difference?

I just wonder if headlines like this, along with the signs and protests will even faze the Iranian President??

edit....typo

5. Can't you just image the up-roar if a newspaper in say, San Francisco used the
same exact words to describe Bush coming to give a speech? Why has America become the country to shout out its hatred for others and then declaring them 'axis of evil' ?

7. I agree -- it comes off as childish. Aren't we supposed to be "the greatest country in the world"?
Surely the editors could have found a more "grownup" way to express contempt.

17. Unless you're being sarcastic about really wanting a censure,
I would have to disagree with you.

I'm not a big fan of shutting down free speech...even disgusting, right wing propaganda.

I'd be shocked if the guy was any more of a monkey-butthole-sucking-douchebag than GW, I really would. He'd like, have to eat babies for breakfast.

(However, I do think there is a nice toasty place in the Hell that doesn't exist for Holocaust deniers.)

14. Did they photoshop his face?
It looks like they did a little subtle morphing to make his eyes smaller, squinty and beady-looking.

Definitely not a flattering photograph.

15. Villian du jour...Qaddafi, Noriega, Saddam Hussein, this guy
40-60% of even this forum falls for this shit every time.

Hell, there was a good 30% here arguing that war with Iraq was necessary back in Feb-March 2003.

You can't save fools from their folly.

18. Bush has slaughtered half a million people. How many people has Ahmadinejad
slaughtered?

Really, the war profiteering corporate news monopolies are showing their undies. They call this man "evil" for just saying things (which some believe have been mistranslated, taken out of context, etc., but even if he DID say "death to Israel" and/or the holocaust didn't happen, these are just WORDS).

But I think what all this comes down to is hatred and contempt for the American people and for our democracy. Can't we deal with words--listen to debate, let all speak, make up our own minds? He's just a man, a leader of a country that has invaded NO ONE. He has his view of the world, we have ours. He may be a bad leader, but we certainly cannot claim to have anything better. Our own president and vice president are vicious mass murderers, torturers and psychos, working for war profiteers and global corporate predators. What a crock that their craprags would toss the word "evil" around, at yet another country with rich oil deposits!

21. Surprised the Post didn't run this
I'm listening to Ahmadinejad on C-SPAN right now, and he doesn't appear to be anywhere near the hysterical fundamentalist that's been painted in the US (and European) media. He's quite the deft debater as well.

IRNA and the national TV in Iran will be able to point to these types headlines as proof positive that the West does not want dialog, with the obligatory reminder of the "Zionist control" of Western media.

Just as American government-sanctioned torture removed whatever traces of moral legitimacy the US might've had left, the US media isn't helping to lend credence to the continuous accusations of "rogue state" media as nothing more but a mouthpiece of the government.

Thanks to C-SPAN for cutting the Ahmadinejad's closing remark. Way to go, idiots.
