Poll question: Serious Question about Airport Security?
Edited on Mon Sep-24-07 01:50 AM by Quixote1818
Greg Focker in an incident back in 2000 repeatedly said the word "bomb" on a plane. Here is a transcript of the exchange:

Airport Security: You were acting like a maniac and you threatened her with a bomb.
Greg Focker: No, I said I didn't have a bomb.
Airport Security: But you said bomb.
Greg Focker: I said, "It's not like I have a bomb".
Airport Security: You said "Bomb" on an airplane.
Greg Focker: What's wrong with saying 'Bomb' on an airplane?
Airport Security: You can't say 'Bomb' on an airplane!
Greg Focker: Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb. You gonna arrest me? Bomb bomb bomb bomb! During the war I was a BOMBadier!

Should he have been tasered or worse?

3. There are many stupid things you can't ask or say to anyone
associated with an airport. My son works for one of the majors, and my hibby and I were flying standby several years ago. I really thought it was stupid to ask every passenger "have you been in possession of your carryons the entire time? Has anyone asked you to take anything on the aircraft for them?, etc." I asked the cpunter attendant if he ever got tired asking those same questions, and if he really believed that if someone really was going to try to circumvent security, would they actually tell you the truth? I damn near got arrested! He looked at me a said "This is NOT a joke!" I explained that I wansn't insuinating that it was a joke, but a foolish repitition of questions that wouldn't accomplish anything.

I really do have sym[athy for the employees who are ordered to ask the stupid questions. It's not their fault.
