BAck in 2001, shortly after Hitler took office, I was depressed. How could we have allowed such an idiot to become president? (notice I didn't say "elect such a president") I was being shellacked by jubilant republicans on how I should get ovet it, move on. I didn't. I dug in my heels and fought back. I live in Texas, I knew the incompetency of Bush, I saw the bastard screw up Texas, and I knew more was coming for the nation. I desperately needed a place to co-miserate with others, as 95% of my neighbors were republicans. I found DU!!

BAck then, there wasn't a whole lot of good news for us "unpatriotic whiners". Then, 9/11.
THis event seemed to have everyone who didn't fly a flag or sport a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker on their SUV labeled as dissenters. So, I found comfort in spending my time reading posts from people of like minds here on DU. I had found a home! I don't post a lot, but I read almost everything that passes though LBN and GD.

There was hope in 2004. It looked possible. But, again we were subjected to the same let down when Ohio went for Bush. Damn! But, I had DU.

Now, the adults are in control of congress, Bush's ratings are in the toilet, and THE DIXIE CHICKS CLEANED HOUSE AT THE GRAMMYS!!!! You hear the word impeachment on TV! We are seeing self-conscious republicans joining the anti-war/escalation side. The rats are jumping ship!
