My heart rate monitor and George Bush vs Keith Olbermann
I went out for a run tonight and got home in time to watch Countdown. I kept my heart monitor on, well, just because. What I noticed was, when Little Lord Panties-in-a-wad Bush came on, my heart rate went up. Keith comes on, my heart rate slows down. Bush-up, Keith-down for the entire 60 minutes. And there was a 5 count difference between the two.

Proof that Fuckwad is going to give me a heart attack before Jan 20, 2009.

1. Oh, I've been there, graywarrior.
But I love the fact that the new appendix-less Keith ripped Bush a new orifice, if you know what I mean.

He made me lose my appetite, lose the will to go on, and lose my mind sometimes. I just keep looking towards January, 2009. Hang out here. We'll all get throught it together.

But seeing proof on a monitor freaked me out. It's almost funny, but if I don't stop, I will have a heart attack. I hate that fucker.

16. Meditation helps -- soft music -- taking a walk or a swim -- saying your mantra...
I'm planning new features for the DU which may require your help!

Good thoughts push out bad ones.

We aren't helpless, but we have to be patient to let this administration suffocate itself and then we will breathe again.

Meanwhile, 1/2 Xanax helps, too, but check with your doctor beforehand.

By the way, I have to find a guide to text messaging "shorthand" somewhere on the Internet.

Maybe this will help: http://www.webopedia.com/quick_ref/textmessageabbreviations.asp

I like this one -- I made it up yesterday.

C U @ the D U ! I also use MEETCHU @ the DU. Is there something shorter to replace "the"?

r u coming i ll b there

This is more like Gregg shorthand, if you're old enough to remember those elegant characters. My mother, legal secretary to my father, could do it about 100 words per minute. I dropped the class because I didn't want to stop seeing my boyfriend on the sly instead of studying the characters.

Then there was speedwriting.

LRN SPEEDWRITING -- U CN GT A JB WTH MO PA.

They had posters for that all over the New Your subway system.

I have a name that can be represented with two alphabet letters.

It's Ellen -- so im L N. hu r u?

Then, my legal middle name (Mom and Dad were so enthralled with me) is STAR. That's right.

So, I have to find a little star somewhere to put after the L N.

25. Gregg shorthand. I realized in high school after taking Gregg that I would never, EVER make a good
secretary.

And now we have text messaging. MYOB, will ya? Hahhahaha, that old lady in that commercial.

26. I didn't learn Gregg shorthand, and I felt that it would hold me back.
However, in the long run, I took jobs that required a Dictaphone -- do you remember those? For the great unwashed and summarily younger than us, Dictaphone was a company that made a recording device that recorded an executive's voice so his secretaries could transcribe his words.

That helped me when I got to my radio career and also kept me OUT of the secretarial pool -- unless I was writing my own letters or papers.

I am a very good typist, and have been prattling along at 75 wpm or better since I was 14. Typing was the most important class I took in high school! Public speaking aptitudes helped, too.

Gray Warrior, good night and good luck.

because it's cheaper. It needs to be universal because your politicians promote policies that are bad for every living breathing thing on the planet!
