Senators Durbin and Boxer call Cronyn on his hypocritical BS!
Check out this excellent diary at Daily Kos: Durbin & Boxer confront Cornyn on attack ad hypocrisy (Update)

Excerpt:

Mr. DURBIN. Would the Senator yield for a question?

Mr. CORNYN. I yield for a question.

Mr. DURBIN. Madam President, in the 2004 Presidential campaign, I might ask the Senator from Texas, there was a group from Texas that attacked Senator John Kerry and said he was undeserving of the commendations and decorations he received for his courage in fighting in Vietnam and raised questions about others who served in the military who were part of his swift boat operation. One would have to say, by any stretch, that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were attacking the honor and integrity of one of our colleagues who served with honor in the Vietnam war.

I would like to ask the Senator from Texas if he is prepared to remain consistent and if he is also prepared to amend his amendment to repudiate the activities, actions, and statements of the Texas-based Swift Boat Veterans for Truth organization with their unwarranted attacks on our colleague, Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, during the 2004 campaign.

3. Thank you for the link and the wonderful video.
Cornyn was definitely put down hard by Senator Boxer and Senator Durbin.

I wish someone would remind Cornyn of his connection to Jack Abramoff and Ralph Reed on the Indian casino scam.

Have you ever noticed how Cornyn is always trying to hog the spotlight at a news conference? It is so obvious that Cornyn is trying hard to gain prominent by burning what ever he can find. IOW John Cornyn is a blatant asshole.

4. And Junior refuses to this day to condemn the swift boat liars.
I just forcefully made that point in an eamil battle with a right winger who didn't like the Movon ad.

6. Cornyn was trying to spin it as the fact that
Kerry was a "public figure and political candidate" ... of course, he most likely condemned Dan Rather for digging up dirt on Bush, political candidate for re-election for Pres in 2004, and "public figure" ...

7. I suppose he thinks Petraeus is not a public figure.
Petraeus, who has been given not one but two additional stars under this administration that likes its yes men. Petraeus, who called the news conference to announce they had found the WMDs (mobile biological weapons labs). You know, the same one who said he wants to run for president.

How's that for preaching to the choir?
