Dirty Water

In a rare, and perhaps suicidal move, Cheney's political puppet in Iraq - Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki - suggested on Wednesday the U.S. State Department stop using American security firm Blackwater after a deadly shooting, adding he would not allow Iraqis to be killed in "cold blood." Uhm, okay. Why such a statement now, Mr. Prime Minister? Innocent Iraqis have been systematically slaughtered "in cold blood" since Bush's illegal invasion began over five years ago. Thousands. Tens of thousands. Hundreds of thousands.

According to Reuters: "Iraq has said it would review the status of all security firms after what it called a flagrant assault by Blackwater contractors in which 11 people were killed while the firm was escorting a U.S. embassy convoy through Baghdad on Sunday. The shooting has incensed Iraqis who regard the tens of thousands of security contractors working in the country as private armies that act with impunity. At issue for many Iraqis is sovereignty, given that security firms appear to have immunity from Iraqi law under a 2004 regulation written while Iraq was under U.S. administration following the toppling of Saddam Hussein the year before." Ah, democracy.

Cheney could not be reached for comment from his sacred box of dirt. But he couldn’t be happy about Maliki's sudden discovery of his own spinal column.

This election isn't even in the district that I'm a board member for, and I was on the phone until after midnight! If these folks would just get so fired up about elections within our precinct/district...jeebus!

This election takes in part of Hamilton County and part of Marion County and there's just so many ways that I can say that I don't know who the precinct chairs/captains are in Marion County, perhaps I should, but call the campaigns of these folks if you want to volunteer, and could I call you when there's an election that affects our district? :hi: :hug:

'where are you when I call and need volunteers for events/elections in our precinct/district?', but I didn't because this is gonna be a big election. This state senate seat was solidly democratic (even if the senator who held the seat was caught up in the TN Waltz corruption sting,:crazy: :sarcasm:) The re:puke:s here are totally obnoxious, overlook their own corruption, etc., and they're out for blood to get control of this seat.

Back in the day..... the local police adopted a war-time mentality. They thoroughly adopted the us-vs-them attitude. They "Nationalized" THEMSELVES.

Back in the day..... it was easy to determine who "them" were. Them were young, had long hair, mostly looked like "hippies" and a lot of them lived on or near college campuses.

Back in the day.... it was easy for the police to Nationalize themselves. Now, it's not so easy. Now, ANYBODY can be a terrorist. Now, even shoes are considered lethal weapons. Little old ladies are suspect. Wheelchairs may now just be a ruse.

Back in the day.... there was a focus to discuss, like or not like. Now, everybody is suspect all the time, every day, day after day.

Those public servants were Pigs then, they are Pigs once again.
