Hillary's support for her Health Care Plan vs mega donations from the Health Care Industry?
What is the connection between these two Hillary points?

Poll: Dems Back Clinton On Health Care - 9/17/07

CBS) As Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton unveils her health care plan today, Democratic primary voters express more confidence in her ability to handle health care than in her chief Democratic rivals, Senator Barack Obama and former Senator John Edwards, a new CBS News poll finds.

Sixty-one percent of those who plan to vote in a Democratic primary express confidence in Clinton’s ability to make the right decisions about health care. Forty-two percent say they have confidence in Obama, while 39 percent say they have confidence in Edwards. Forty-nine percent say Clinton would do a better job on health care than her Democratic opponents.

SiCKO: Hillary Clinton became the second largest recipient in the Senate of health care industry contributions.

"As she runs for re-election to the Senate from New York this year and lays the groundwork for a possible presidential bid in 2008, Mrs. Clinton is receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from doctors, hospitals, drug manufacturers and insurers. Nationwide, she is the No. 2 recipient of donations from the industry, trailing only Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, a member of the Republican leadership." Raymond Hernandez and Robert Pear, "Once an Enemy, Health Industry Warms to Clinton," New York Times, July 12, 2006.

1. Donations to Hillary are the reason I am cautious at best on her health care plan
Yes it is a plan to cover all Americans but what is is going to cost them, us? I am sure the insurance companies are still going to make out like bandits.

3. You say, "Yes it is a plan to cover all Americans"
I say, No it is a plan to force all Americans to buy more insurance.

It is ridiculous. At least with forced auto insurance, one can agree that having a car or not is a choice, and if you're going to have one then you must be responsible and carry liability insurance in case of accidents. Even so, it's more paperwork and another entity to deal with. At some point individuals become overwhelmed with the complexity and numerous entities we are forced to deal with just to keep our heads above water and ourselves in good legal standing.

The last thing I want, is another mandated "you have to buy this or else" type thing. Let's say I'm unemployed, and had to decide between insurance or keeping the water on. Guess which one I would pay? Which one would you pay? And then, I break a leg. I go to an emergency room. Do they refuse to treat me? Or do they sock me with the big bills, and then the cops come along and write me a ticket and I have a fine on top of it? Good Lord, this idea strikes me as going from bad to worse.

As others have pointed out, Clinton's plan ends up being a boon for the insurance companies. No caps on premiums, so even though they have to insure anyone who applies, they can stick it to them. So the sick and the elderly will tend to sign up for the government plans which are subsidized by taxes. And the insurance companies get to take on the young and the healthy. Wow, so now they have the best of both worlds, they assume little of the risk and can maintain their bloated profitability. Wow, that's what I want to vote for. Not.

Health care is something that the richest nation in the world could and should provide to all of its citizens.

Other developed countries have universal, single payer health care. Their workers get more vacation time and are (statistically) less productive than American workers. Their companies do not have to add the hefty cost of health insurance for their workers, to the price of the products they sell, thus making them more competitive internationally.
