Is there a name for discrimination against liberals?
Or conservatives, for that matter? I have only one conservative friend and only because I've known him for a long time. I don't talk politics with him. It seems like hating and discriminating against someone of a different political persuasion is the last "acceptable" form of discrimination. It's not acceptable to discriminate against someone because of their race, gender, age, national origin, religion or sexual orientation, but it's still acceptable to ostracize someone because of their political orientation. Right-wing radio hosts can spew hatred all day long - and it's perfectly fine with their listeners because it's directed at liberals. If the same talk had been directed at any other subgroup of the population, there would be a nationwide uproar about it. But if it's liberals, then tally-ho! What is the name for discrimination and hatred for someone at the opposite end of the political spectrum?

3. Intolerance. And when intolerance is thick enough
Hatred.

The neocons hate liberals enough that we are in some cases already considered terrorists

4. Fascism
Same name for both.

Remember that the people in charge of the Republican party and who dominate the airwaves & print media are not conservatives. Barry Goldwater and Dwight Eisenhower wouldn't find a place in the modern GOP.

8. Hatred toward liberals came as a big surprise to me.
I use to have political conversations with conservatives before 9/11. We went to war with Iraq, then Boom!, liberals should shut up. I was called stupid when I tried to explain that going into Iraq was a mistake, and finally got to the point to realizing Rush Limbaugh and others had done their job too well. There was no point in arguing. I remember when Limbaugh was considered an entertainer, then all of a sudden he was considered a journalist.

9. Ah, but discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation IS permissible, apparently.
Just ask virtually any Republican or, for that matter, all those Democratic presidential candidates who have failed to support equal marriage for gay people.
