I haven't been here much over the course of the summer (and for damn good reasons), so there is likely some drama that I've missed.

Likely several dramas, in fact, if I know DU and I think I do.

However: "for any of you who care" is NOT the kind of drama I expect from you, Mr Pitt. You need to pull up your socks, son, and get back to being the argumentative and fearless son of a bitch we've known in the past.

I tell you this as a friend: Buck up, hoss. We all have problems, we all go through periods of depression / despair / self-doubt / fuck, why do I bother / I haven't been feeling well lately. Every ONE of us.

But courage requires that we not feel sorry for ourselves. Yes, we can yell for help when we need it, and there's no shame at all in doing that, but self-pity, as expressed by saying "For any of you who care?" No. Just fucking no.

You need to take a break, and come to Old Saybrook to drink with me for a weekend. Here, we can smoke on the screen porch and solve the world's problems while the neighborhood sleeps. Or I'll come to Boston and we'll eat that Bukowski's heart-attack pasta with four cheeses and do the same.

Don't punk out on me now, God dammit.
