You know what I can't wrap my head around?
george bush's complete willingness to blow the repuke party out of the water, potentially turning it into a nothing but a regional force, just so he can stay in Iraq.

I mean, how whacked is that?

1. They should have noticed that when he withheld the Rumsfeld resignation.
Funny though. He's willing to let the Republican Party die and so am I.

3. I hope you're right
We desperately need a permanent end to this insanity by getting rid of that war mongering party forever.

4. works for me--but then, I want them destroyed
after what they've done to my country.

I have to laugh when I think of all the loyal Bushies who are about to discover their hero cares only for himself and everyone else can go perform a 360 degree Cheney on themselves. After all theri bleating about what character, fortitude, Christianity and compassion Shrub inherently has in his golden crown.

6. Honestly, I think all the repukes in charge know Iraq is lost
They're just trying to run out the clock so that they can pin the loss on the Democrats when we win the Presidency. This is playing in with Congressional Democrats plans to also keep us in Iraq until '08 because they see that as a (short-term) winning position for the next election.

My 2 cents anyway.

8. Yeah, but they're running the very real risk
of having a 56+ dem majority Senate. A high ranking repuke advisor recently said that the only safe repuke seats in the Senate, are those that aren't up in 2008.

9. the true believers will never leave
the most loyal core of the republican party would not leave it if GB was stomping kittens on the front lawn of the white house. The conservatives of America have no long term memory for the wrongdoings of the people they support but they never forget the smallest transgressions of their rivals. I am sure by the time that Iraq becomes such a failure that no one can deny it they will find a way to blame it all on the dems. in spite of the fact that they are doing little to take control and salvage this situation.

After bu$hler used up the Democrats (or after they rolled over for him), the next logical target was the Republics.

was the main aim of the PNAC crew that put B*sh into power. Mission accomplished.

13. They are corporatist not repugs or Americans first...corporations are
running this country and they don't care who stays in power as long as it is good for them...we do not want to elect a corporatist president...but I have a feeling we will.

17. It was lucky to survive 9/11.
If United 93 had departed on time and knocked down the dome of the US Capitol building or hit the White House, that would have either been the end of Congress and/or Bush-Cheney ruling with emergency powers from a military bunker.

18. Respectfully disagree.
I read your post as saying the republican party chances in 2008 are being harmed, perhaps severely, by President Bush. That is not what I see happening today. The democrats should take the White House, but will still be in for a fight. More, the contests in the House and Senate are not to be taken for granted.
