Thanks senator for your military service, but you were the most arrogant, lying sob on the Diane Rehm show this morning. Lying about Petraues, even about his combat experience, rudely dismissing a military wife's pleas for the littlest iota of empathy and getting all huffy and puffy when someone challenged your credibility. YOU are a typical republican asshole with no concept of success or failure relative to your party's leaders total fuck up as commander in chief.

I know where you now stand in my opinion base senator.

for me it was his stroll through the baghdad market earlier this year, the one that provoked the murders of 21 shopkeepers the next day.

He's just playing the part of someone's minion, like in a crime movie, where one pathetic sacrificial soul has to suffer along through all three acts as half-dead zombie, enduring all manner of torturous pain and humiliation so that there can be a spectacular death scene at the end of the show and we can all be relieved at his passing.

Someone needs to put him out of his misery and tell him to just go home and rest. But that wouldn't be good for the show would it?

7. Hard to
turn loose of a Naval Aviator. I would never have voted for him, but on occasion I had positive thoughts about him, never again. Anyone who would cut off diane rehm needs their ass kicked.

8. You say he was rude to the military wife
As I recall, he divorced his wife when he got home from Vietnam.

He said she didn't do anything wrong. She waited and worried about him the whole time he was imprisoned.

Evidently, he just wanted to marry a younger, rich wife.

So, I can understand why McCain wouldn't have sympathy for a loyal, worried wife.

9. Petraues had no combat experience prior to 2003
And the experience he does have was as a general behind the lines, making decisions, in other words there are privates serving in front line units that have recorded more combat experience then the good general.

How is it then that he wears a Bronze Star with V device? Isn't that a combat only award?

even if my little daughter isn't black and illegitimate; and even after all the years of being a POW I'm not really mentally unbalanced (now debateable); or that my wife is a dope addict; I love you just the same!

17. I chalk it up to
military personnel bonding. I do not like his politics, would never have voted for him but he and I both served in the Navy and as such I had a fond place in my psyche for a fellow shipmate. But he pissed me off to no end this morning.

20. Why should McCain get any points for his military service?
He was dropping bombs on civilians.

That he made it through horrible mistreatment as a POW is admirable, but that's tempered by what he was doing when he was shot down.

22. Do you paint the service of admirable men such as John Kerry or Max Cleland
with that same broad brush?

Mr. McCain's service was commendable, his actions since that time are not.

23. They weren't dropping bombs on civilians
What makes service commendable? The fact that it was in uniform during wartime? Only U.S. or allied uniform?

I think America badly needs to get back to its old, historic distrust of armies, indluding its own. The current near worship of uniformed service, which we see so amply displayed on DU, is dangerous to democracy.
