Modest proposal: send international peacekeepers to Iran that * would not dare Nuke.
I have been worried for some time that W. thinks he is owed two nukes, since Democrat, Harry Truman got to use two. And Cheney wants to go after Iran, because his bosses the Sunnis in Saudi Arabia have told him to do it.

However, W. might think twice if he knew for 100% certain that the world would condemn him as a bloody murderer for sending in the nukes. One way to do that would be to make sure that there are a bunch of people from other countries in Iran, people whom the world would miss. People like religious leaders from around the world, scientists, artists, athletes, statesmen. China and Russia are allies of both the US and Iran, so they might send people into that country that W. would think twice about nuking. Peace loving groups from other countries might participate. Iran might go for it. The people could cycle in and out, taking turns so no one would have to stay all the way through January 2009.

Just a thought. A presence like that would not stop Darth Cheney for a second, but W. cares about what people think about him.

3. That's brilliant. And it could work.
Not because these @ssholes would hesitate to kill anyone but because the foreign press would be all over it.

:applause:

4. I really don't think he would hesitate to nuke ANYONE. Anyone at all.
And besides, Cheney is the one calling the shots
in this dictatorship. And you've agreed that this
wouldn't make him hesitate either.

5. I agree -- but they still don't control the foreign press.

They have a sphere of influence but it has limits. If a contingent of well known people went to Iran very publicly and got press, it would be much harder for these bastards to move.

Edit: clarity

6. Remember the "human shields" idea before Shock & Awe? I wonder how many of them died.
Because, you know, George Bush gets off on legal murder, and he gets off on being righteous, and he REALLY gets off on combining the two.

Once he gets himself psyched to do the deed, and once he gets the propaganda machine well-oiled, I do not know what will stop him from the war with Iran that Cheney so desperately desires.

I keep hoping that CorpGovActivist will check back in one of these days and let us know that saner minds have surrounded Bush and Cheney and have removed the nuclear button from their grasp.

Because I do not believe that Bush will care who is in Iran. He doesn't care that millions think him a deranged war criminal. He thinks "History" will vindicate him, and he thinks he talks to God.

Hekate

7. Bush would take great joy in killing
international peace keepers. Besides, what makes you think that Iran would allow it? What would be the justification to the international community to do this?
